Cyprus has been a love nest for centuries. According to legend, the island is the birthplace of the Goddess of Love, Aphrodite. It’s thought the immortal temptress enjoyed secret forest trysts here with a string of ancient gods, like Ares and Adonis. Fast forward a bit, and the Roman general, Mark Antony, is said to have skipped the jewellery and presented the island to Cleopatra as a token of his love and affection.
A couples' favourite
Today, this place still spells romance. Here, you get to whisper sweet nothings beside an 800-kilometre-long coastline, and picnic in pine forests straight out of a storybook.
Wedding Venues
You can tie the knot with us in three of Cyprus’ most popular destinations. In Paphos, on the island’s south-west coast, you can say ‘I do’ in the fresco-filled St George’s chapel. In Ayia Napa and Protaras – on the eastern side of Cyprus – you can opt for a ceremony in their more modern town halls. Alternatively, all three are home to lots of waterfront hotels, which are ideal picks for a romantic, sea-view ceremony.
Exploring the island
On the days you’re not tying the knot, you can spend your time exploring the Cypriot countryside. Nights are also made for outings à deux, with spots like Limassol specialising in lantern-lit tables, light jazz and sea views.
Where you can wed
In Cyprus, we offer weddings in the Larnaca region and the Paphos region.
