Drifting down the Douro

From June 2027, we’re setting sail for a seven-night cruise along the Douro in Portugal. The Douro Discovery itinerary starts and ends in the colourful city of Porto, and stops off at picturesque wineries and cosy countryside villages along the way. And with flights from Gatwick and Manchester, you’ll be floating along the river with a glass in hand in no time.

Introducing Porto and the Douro

This cruise shines a spotlight on Portugal’s Douro Valley – a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the heart of the country’s wine-making region. You’ll get a good look at Portugal’s second-biggest city – Porto – as well as dropping anchor in pretty villages and towns, like Entre-os-Rios, Barca d’Alva and Vega de Terron.

What to expect on a Douro river cruise with TUI

Ship

Our shiny new ship has four decks and a tally of 56 cabins. On the top deck, you'll find a pool fringed with sunbeds, along with Cinder, a bar and dining area where you can pick up self-serve lunches. There are a few more places to eat and drink onboard, too.

Food & Drink

When it comes to wining and dining, you’ve got three restaurants to try, plus a main lounge bar. With our Full Board Plus package, all your meals will be included, along with the drinks served with them – think soft drinks, coffee, beer and wine. You can opt for an All Inclusive upgrade*, if you fancy.

Cabins

All cabins are on the outside, so you can expect views from morning until night. Standard cabins have a window, and there are a few different upgrades* with French balconies, too. As standard, all cabins come with essentials like air-conditioning, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee-making facilities, a hairdryer and a safe.

Entertainment

Our onboard entertainment team rallies up a variety of activities throughout the day. When the sun goes down, nightly entertainment takes place in Novo – the main lounge bar – and covers the likes of live music and quizzes.
