Majorca’s good looks have earned it the nickname Jewel Of The Med, so it’s a natural choice for island weddings. Marriages here begin on soft, sandy beaches, in the gardens of blush-coloured country mansions and at chic marinas with ocean views.
An artist's muse
The island’s rolling green hills are dotted with honey-hued cottages and cotton-white blossom trees. And on the coast, swathes of sand line emerald waters. So it’s no wonder Majorca has inspired artists for centuries. World-famous painter Joan Miró fell in love with the island and spent most of his life here.
Night fever
With a festival for every month of the year, celebrating is Majorca’s forté. Wedding feasts here put freshly caught seafood on the menu and the wine comes straight from an island vineyard. Set the date for June’s Night of Fire and you’ll see the skies light up with fireworks while locals dance in the streets.
Exploring the island
Newlyweds have their pick of pretty honeymoon destinations. Palma is dominated by a grand Gothic cathedral and has a maze of cobbled streets to get lost in hand-in-hand. In the north, the rugged limestone cliffs are made for climbing, caving and mountain biking. If lazy days on the beach pull your heartstrings, you’ve got more than 60 with a Blue Flag to their name.
