Flying with other airlines

TUI Airways flies all over the world. While we have our own large fleet, sometimes that's not even enough to cover busy holiday periods and the summer season. That’s why we often hire extra aircraft from our regular TUI partner airlines to lend a hand. This way, we ensure that everyone can travel with TUI. Plus, to make sure we can offer you more choice of destinations and travel times, we also sell our holidays with the flights offered by another airline. We refer to these as non-TUI airlines.

Regardless of who you fly with, rest assured that if a transfer’s included in your holiday package, your transfer will meet you on arrival at the airport. And, you can relax knowing that wherever you are you can always contact us via our 24/7 digital service, or by calling +4420 38 303 111 (calls from abroad will be charged at international rates).

TUI partner airlines

Most flights booked with us will be operated by TUI Airways. However, on occasion we may lease aircraft from other airlines so we can deliver our flying schedule in busy periods. A majority of these flights will have a TOM or BY flight number and will usually operate with a TUI cabin crew and offer full TUI service. These airlines include Avion Express Malta, Sunwing, Smartlynx and Titan Airways. These flights can also be managed on via Manage my Booking on the TUI website.

Where the TUI partner airline operates with their own airline number, like Aegean Airlines, Albastar, Aer Lingus, BA CityFlyer, Freebird Airlines and SunExpress, they’ll operate with their own cabin crew. But, since they’re TUI managed, you can expect the same level of service as our own. Plus, we’ll help you manage your booking and provide support if any disruption occurs.

All our airline partners are carefully selected to make sure you receive the high standards you expect from a TUI holiday. They also meet the strict standards of either the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) or the EU Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

If we need to change your aircraft to one of our TUI partner airlines after booking, we’ll notify you as soon as possible.

Non-TUI Airlines

If you fly with a non-TUI airline, this means your flight will be fully operated with another airline, including the cabin crew and onboard service. When you add your passenger information, check-in online or want to add extras to your flight, you’ll need to manage this through the non-TUI airline’s website or app. It also means the non-TUI airline is responsible for your flight experience, and for providing any help if disruption occurs.

As you go through the booking process, you’ll see details for which airline you will be flying with. This will be confirmed on your booking documents and e-ticket, as well as in Manage My Booking on the TUI website.

Managing your non-TUI airline booking

If you're flying with a non-TUI airline, submitting your passport information, check-in options and boarding pass requests, as well as making seat* and luggage selections will be handled and confirmed by the third-party airline. You can do all this through their dedicated booking management system on their website. TUI is not able to display changes to your flights in Manage Your Booking.

To log into the airline website, you’ll be asked for your flight reference number. Just so you know, this isn’t the same as your TUI booking reference. Your flight reference number will be a six-digit code (seven-digits for EasyJet flights) and can be found on your booking confirmation, e-ticket or in View/Edit a Booking on the TUI website. For Turkish Airlines, you’ll need your ticket number to access Manage Your Booking on their website.

*Please note, some airlines only let you choose your seat once you've paid in full, or when your flights have been ticketed and you've checked in. If you want to upgrade your seat prior to this, please give us a call so we can take a final payment and ticket your booking.

You can contact us on 0203 451 2688 and select the non-TUI airlines option if you want to cancel or amend your non-TUI airline booking. If you want to add things to your booking, you can do so through the partner’s website. For bigger changes, like dates and flight amendments, please give us a call as soon as possible.

Details about our most frequently used non-TUI airlines are available below.
