Passing the mic
We could shout about sailing with Marella Cruises all day. But we thought, who better to tell you about what a Marella cruise is like than the cruisers themselves?
So, we ran the We Sea You competition, giving Marella Cruises fans the chance to win a free cruise in exchange for some insights on why they love taking to the seas with us. The group we got together have been on more than 25 cruises in total and, as you can imagine, they’ve got lots to share from their voyages.
Get their take on why going on a Marella cruise is so special, and which itineraries are top of their list of recommendations. You might just get the inspo you need to book a trip of your own.
Psst… head to the Marella Cruises Facebook and Instagram pages to see more from our chosen cruisers, and keep an eye out for future competitions. You and your partner in cruising could be our next winners…

Because you wake up in a different port every day. It’s a great way to see the world in a safe environment. And with Marella Cruises, All Inclusive means All Inclusive – no hidden extras. Plus, there’s always something going on, from live music to quizzes, and the staff are second to none.

It’s a great way to experience different cultures. And with Marella Cruises, the booking process is easy, flights and transfers are included, and the dining and entertainment options are great. The staff are really friendly, too – they always remember your name, and very often your favourite drink.

Your holiday is never boring or dull on a cruise. Every day is a new opportunity to explore a new place, chill on a beach or even just to stay on the ship and enjoy the food, drinks and entertainment included onboard. It’s like having a floating resort. There’s nothing better.

Our favourite itinerary so far has been Exotic Islands. It took us to places where the sea was more turquoise and the sand was whiter than we’d ever seen before. My granddaughter had me doing things I never dreamt I would do at my age, too, like snorkelling and zip-lining through rainforests. The excursions were great and such good value for money.

Our favourite is Adriatic Affair. In Montenegro, we did a shore excursion that combined the old town and the cable car. Looking down from the mountain was a highlight – the air is so clean up there, and there are some nice places to eat and shop. The sail in and out of the port is magical, as well. The scenery’s beautiful.

Cocktails and Coconuts in the Caribbean was our favourite itinerary. We really enjoyed places like Antigua, with its floating beach bar, and St Kitts, where TUI offers a ‘rail and sail’ shore excursion. We also thought the Barbados boatyard visit was great value. And we got to see where one of Josh’s favourite films, Pirates of the Caribbean, was filmed.
