Playa de las Americas holidays

Holidays to Playa de las Americas offer you the best nightlife on Tenerife – as well as 6 sandy beaches and duty-free shops.

Built for fun

Set on Tenerife’s southwest coast in the Canary Islands, Playa de las Americas is a purpose-built resort that comes with great clubbing credentials. The year-round sun and multiple sandy beaches also pull in the Brit crowds. And then there are the duty-free shops, some great tapas restaurants, a waterpark on the doorstep and the upmarket resort of Los Cristianos just next door.

Six sandy beaches

Playa de las Americas really goes to town on its beaches – there are 6 to choose from. And they all come with a great round-up of watersports, including jet-skiing and scuba diving. The main beach is sandy with calm, paddle-friendly waters and it has lots of cafés, restaurants and kiosks. Meanwhile, Playa de Guincho is a favourite with surfers and windsurfers.

Party capital

Playa de las Americas is the island’s undisputed party leader. Cocktails, clubs and karaoke are the order of the day, and tribute acts do pretty convincing Elton John impressions. There are a couple of casinos here as well. You’ll find the nightlife hubs at Veronicas strip, the Starco Centre and the Patch.

Daytrips to Mount Teide

In around half an hour you’re in wildflower-filled Teide National Park. It’s home to one of the world’s biggest volcanoes. There are 2 options for getting to its 3,718-metre-high peak – a walk along the trails or a lift in the cable car. Either way, the views at the top are pretty spectacular.
