Greece

You’ve got plenty of places to choose from when you tie the knot in Greece – the line-up includes everywhere from Crete to Corfu and Santorini to Skiathos. Prefer to get married on the mainland? No problem. Weddings in Halkidiki’s town hall are on our list, too. If you’re after a hotel-based big day, we’ve got lots of options for that as well. The Blue Lagoon Village in Kos should be on your radar if there are kids in your wedding party. It comes with spacious two-bedroom family rooms that fit up to five people, so bigger families can save some cash by booking one room. Plus, there’s a TUI Kids’ Club and a mini waterpark. Oh, and did we mention there are swim-up rooms? Upgrading to one of these is the perfect pre-wedding treat.

Cyprus

Cyprus is a great option if you’re planning a religious wedding – if you’ve been baptised or christened, you can opt for an Anglican Church wedding here. You can even pick your own hymns and readings. If you’d rather a symbolic or legal ceremony, they’re both on offer, too. Looking for a five-star setting for your big day? Take a look at TUI BLUE Sensatori Aphrodite Hills. You and your guests can dine at nine restaurants, and there are lots of fancy room upgrades to make your stay extra special. Take a peek at the swim-up suite with a sea view and you’ll see what we’re talking about.

Turkey

Turkey’s got all the trimmings when it comes to big days, so it’s a good pick if you’re dreaming of a wedding with a touch of luxe. Take off to Antalya and you can tie the knot with views of the Turkish Riviera – a stretch of the country’s coastline that’s famous for its turquoise waters and pretty villages. Or, choose Izmir and you can spend your first day as newlyweds strolling around the ancient city of Ephesus. If there aren’t any kids in your wedding party, let’s introduce you to The Residence at TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Fethiye – the adults-only section of TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Fethiye. You’ve got a choice of wedding venues here – you can say “I do” in the hotel’s pretty gardens, or your nuptials on the beach. Room-wise, if you really want to level up the luxe, grab your other half and stay at the Lake House Suites. Private whirlpool on the balcony or terrace? Yep. Pillow menu? You bet. In-room aromatherapy. You’ve got it.

Egypt

Fancy a winter wedding? Say hello to Egypt. Weddings here take place any time of year, so it’s a great go-to whenever you’re planning to tie the knot. If you’ve got kids in tow, the Holiday Village Red Sea should be on your shortlist – it’s home to an aquapark, an Aerial Adventure course and clubs for every age. Just so you know, this hotel is known as the Coral Sea Holiday Resort from November to April, and any activities run by our Holiday Villages Team won’t run during this time. Over at the TUI BLUE Sensatori Coral Sea, there are separate zones for adults and families, six restaurants and a bumper range of fancy room upgrades to choose from. Our eyes are on the one that comes with a sea view and a private whirlpool on the balcony.

Croatia

Pick Croatia for a wedding with a traditional feel – all ceremonies here take place in a town hall and there are three to choose from. Porec’s Venetian-style town hall is more than 100 years old, and it’s surrounded by pretty gardens with palms – did somebody say perfect post-wedding snaps backdrop? Further along the coast, Pula’s town hall is set in the town’s main square – it was built during the late Renaissance period, and its architecture showcases a blend of Roman, Venetian and Neo-Gothic Styles. Last but not least, you’ve got the town hall in Rovinj. It’s also set in the town’s main square, so you and your guests can spill out onto the cobblestone streets for photos after you’ve said “I do”.

Italy

If you fancy something a little different, taking off to tie the knot in Italy could be the perfect option. All weddings here take place outdoors, and there are plenty of venues to choose from. In Sorrento, the options include the Cloisters of San Francesco, where you can tie the knot in a peaceful courtyard filled with bougainvillea. You can also pick the Correale Museum’s gardens, which offer views out over the Bay of Naples. Once you’ve strolled back down the aisle as a two, you can take off to a local restaurant for your wedding reception. Amalfi Coast caught your eye? Your options here include Positano or Maiori’s town hall – the latter’s within strolling distance of the sea, so you can make a toast to life as newlyweds with a backdrop of Italy’s most iconic coastline. We’ve also got weddings in Lake Garda covered, where you can tie the knot on the grounds of iconic castles and palaces, including Malcesine Castle. Fairytale big day? Sorted.

Mexico

The Royalton Riviera Cancun can cater for all group sizes, from just the two of you to large wedding parties. The hotel spreads out along a beach, with seven swimming pools, a splash park and nine restaurants part of the line-up. There are lots of activities day and night and separate clubs for kids and teens, too.

Dominican Republic

If you’ve always pictured yourself tying the knot by the sand, you’ll want to consider a wedding in the Dominican Republic. Bayahibe is famous for having one of the best beaches in the country, with white sand joining forces with clear blue waters to create a picture-perfect swathe. Sound good? The adults-only Catalonia Royal Bavaro bags you a spot right on this coastline, and it also comes with six restaurants and a beach bar. There’s a spa on hand to make sure you’re fresh-faced before you walk down the aisle, and Bali beds for chilled-out days after.

Thailand

Another great option for an exotic big day destination is Thailand, which doubles as an incredible honeymoon spot. You can get married here all year round, although November to March is your best bet for hot, sunny days. And you’ve got two options when it comes to the ceremony – choose a symbolic one or go for a traditional Thai blessing. As for venues, it’s all about hotel weddings here – and you’ve got a bumper crop of beachfront properties to pick from. Amari Phuket, for example, has its own secluded spot at the quiet end of Patong Beach. That means you’ve got that dreamy Andaman Sea backdrop for your post-wedding pics, as well as the bright lights of Phuket close by – perfect when you want to up the pace.
