Best party holiday destinations

Ready to dance until dawn? Get the lowdown on the best party holiday destinations.

POV: the WhatsApp group chat is pinging non-stop with suggestions on where to go for a party holiday, but nobody can decide on one spot. You’ve now sent a poll, but half the group hasn’t answered and there’s no clear winner. The struggle of being the group organiser, right? Don’t sweat it. We’ve done some digging and got all the intel on where to go for the best clubbing holiday. So, put the group chat on mute, and get ready to find your perfect party getaway.

Laganas

Seems fitting to kick things off with Zante’s Laganas – it’s been crowned one of the hottest destinations for clubbing holidays for years, and it doesn’t seem to be losing any pace. You’ve got more than 50 bars and clubs to pick from on party hols to this Greek town. Boat trips and pool parties are always on the agenda, too. It’s not all party though – Laganas is far from a one-trick pony. The white-sand beach here is one of the island’s best stretches. Perfect for flaking out on with a hangover from the night before, if you ask us.

Malia

We’re not going too far for our second entry, as we’re heading just across the water to Malia in Crete. The main strip here runs for more than a kilometre through the town, and you’ve got back-to-back bars on both sides of the street. For chilled-out days, head to the town’s sandy beach which is only a few minutes’ stroll from the strip. There’s plenty of watersports action going on down here if you can face it, too. Pedalo, anyone?

Aiya Napa

It’s across to Cyprus next, with a look at why Ayia Napa should be on your radar for a party holiday abroad. Big nights out here are centred around Ayia Napa Square with its back-to-back bars and clubs. You’ll also need to pencil in an early night for a day out to the beach – Ayia Napa’s white sands are almost as legendary as its nights out.

Magaluf

Party holidays in Majorca are all about Magaluf. And, with more than 100 bars and clubs on the map, it’s not hard to figure out why. Everyone’s heard of BCM, right? It pulls in some of the biggest international DJs in Europe and beyond. Gingo’s Bingo and a trip to Western Water Park need to be part of your holiday plans, too. And, just like the party hotspots we’ve mentioned, Magaluf does the double – as well as plenty of bars it lines up some pretty impressive beaches, too.

Kavos

We’re back in Greece now, this time, on the island of Corfu. Kavos is the big player when it comes to party holidays here. The town’s strip is one of the biggest on this list, coming in strong with almost two kilometres of bars and clubs. And, to get the party started before dark, you’ve got your pick of boat trips, foam parties and poolside DJs. Oh, and if the music gets too much around the poolside the next day, the town’s sands are only a few minutes’ stroll from most of the hotels in Kavos.

Ibiza

It should be no surprise that the White Isle has made it onto this list. It’s been one of Europe’s – scratch that, the world’s – top party holiday destinations for decades. Iconic clubs come in big numbers in Ibiza – Amnesia, Ushuaia and Pascha need to be on your radar for nights out. When it comes to day events, you’ve got Ibiza Rocks and O Beach Club leading the way, with big-name DJs usually taking residence there all summer long. Not sure where to stay? San Antonio’s closest to the main strip, while Playa d’en Bossa puts you within easy reach of most of the big-name clubs.

Tenerife

Last, but by no means least, we’re taking off to Tenerife. The biggest of the Canary Islands sure knows how to put on a party. You need to be looking at Playa de las Americas here – it’s where you’ll find all the biggest clubs and bars. Find a hotel nearby and you’ll be sorted. There’s a beach just behind the strip, so you’ll have everything you need right on your doorstep. It’s also a great option for a lively winter holiday. Unlike most destinations, the strip stays open all year long.
