Family Holidays

Kavos holidays pop you in Corfu’s party capital, where late-night events follow daytime beach relaxation – ideal for high-energy Greek Island getaways, and student and group travel. Lefkimi’s traditional town is nearby, too, while boat trips serve up Ionian Sea adventures.

Corfu’s party capital

You don’t have to be clued up on the local party scene to know what will pop up if you Google ‘Kavos Strip nightlife’ or ‘Kavos Corfu bars and clubs’. This place is known for its late-night party venues, which have been going for nearly 50 years (Gen Zers, we bet your parents know about the area’s 1980s party heritage). But you don’t have to party 24/7 when you holiday here. Thanks to Kavos’ southern Corfu location, you’re in prime position for Ionian Sea boat trips to nearby islands. Paxos and Antipaxos excursions are particularly popular – this dynamic is much quieter than their fast-paced neighbour.

Action-packed beach days

When it comes to sunbathing spots, Paralia Kavos – or Kavos Beach – should be on your list. It’s one of the most popular beaches along the 8km sandy coastline that skirts Corfu’s southern tip, and has shallow waters for paddling out into. Extreme sports like bungee jumping are up for grabs here, too, and you can sign up for banana boat rides and jet-skiing. There’s no shortage of beachfront cafés, either, so you can refuel before chasing another adrenaline rush. Quad bike tours are a good option…

Exploring Corfu Town’s history

You can satisfy your culture craving with Corfu Old Town daytrips. The historic centre’s around an hour’s drive away, and lines up lots of UNESCO-listed landmarks. Walk the Old Fortress Tunnels, see the St Spiridon Church architecture and learn the Mon Repos Palace history, before stopping for a bite in one of the Liston arcade cafés – this famous building is modelled after the Rue de Rivoli in Paris. The Esplanade area is worth a visit, too. It’s the biggest square in Greece, and is great for people-watching.
