Just in case you’ve not been keeping up your streak on Duolingo – it means hello. Ayia Napa is the party capital of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. As well as its nightlife, it’s also famous for its double-digit count of Blue Flag beaches – there are 14 of them to be exact. But, back to the important stuff, nightlife. You can forget the standard strip on party holidays here, it’s all about Ayia Napa Square – think four walls of back-to-back bars and clubs and you’ll be along the right tracks. Big nights out in Ayia Napa
Ayia Napa doesn’t mess around when it comes to big-name clubs – the square is packed with them. If a cheesy soundtrack is your vibe – no shame here – look out for the Carwash Disco which pumps out classic tunes until the early hours. Black & White is your go-to if R&B is more your thing, and they often have celeb DJs on the agenda right throughout summer. Fancy a mixed soundtrack? Head to Castle Club, which has five different rooms, each with a different sound – perfect if you and your crew’s Spotify playlists aren’t quite in sync.
Beaches perfect for nursing your hangover on
Party holidays to Ayia Napa aren’t all about the clubs. You’ll get easy access to some of the island’s best beaches, too. The best of the bunch include Nissi Beach where you can expect beach parties and DJs at one end, and fancy cafés and cabanas at the other. It’s worth booking in for a chilled-out day in a cabana if you ask us – just after the mid-way point of your getaway is usually perfect. If the hangover’s hitting really hard, you might want to take a look at Agia Thekla Beach. Things are pretty peaceful down here, so it’s perfect for grabbing a lounger and letting the sound of the waves see your hangover off. Top tip: ice-cold cans tend to speed up the process.
