Trogir holidays
Holidays to Trogir plant you in a small Croatian town with an island all to itself and beaches close by.
Cosy Croatian town
Trogir is a little town plotted along Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast, just a 30-minute drive away from Split. The old town’s located on its own little island and is only accessible by bridges from the mainland. It’s a tiny town – you can walk from one end to the other in about five minutes – but it packs a lot of historical sights in, and it’s earnt the UNESCO stamp of approval. Enter the city walls and head for the main square, where St Lawrence Cathedral takes the spotlight with its belltower – climb up there for views over the terracotta rooftops and out to sea.
Sand near the city
Saldun Beach, in Saldun Bay, sits between the old town of Trogir and the lively resort of Okrug Gornij – where there are lots of other beaches, too. The little bay has a restaurant right on the sand and calm waters that are ideal for swimming, Plus, it will only take you 15 minutes to walk there from Trogir, so you can easily head back into town for lunch.
Saunter around Split
Split is one of the most popular holiday destinations in Croatia and the largest city on the Dalmatian Coast. For more historical sights, you can walk through the town’s winding streets and eye up the grand archways, ancient palace and impressive cathedral. Or, if you’re after beaches, you’ve got lots to choose from, including Bacvice – a Blue Flag number right by the city centre.
