Baska Voda holidays
Jump to sections
Blue Flag beaches and best-in-class seafood are helping holidays to Baska Voda climb Croatia’s holiday hotspot ladder.
Riviera town
Baska Voda is part of an elite club of towns and villages which make up the Makarska Riviera on Croatia’s southern shoreline. The stretch runs along the coast for more than 40 kilometres, and it’s home to a collection of cutesy towns and villages which are fronted by some of the country’s top-rated swathes. You’re well positioned for exploring from here, too. The riviera’s namesake town – Makarska – is around a 15-minute drive away. Or, if you fancy a slice of Croatia’s big-city scene, you’re only an hour’s drive from Split.
Pebbly beach scene
This place has grown in popularity and size in recent years, but it’s still held on to its former fishing village charm. The town wraps around a Blue Flag beach which is fronted by pebbles and edged by traditional cafés and restaurants. You’ve got a couple more beach options within walking distance, too – Podluka Beach is a 15-minute stroll from the centre – it’s rated as one of the riviera’s top seaside spots.
Seafront strolls
Baska Voda’s seafront prom stretches all the way to the next big town, Brela – the host to a six-kilometre stretch of sand-and-pebble beach. It’ll take you around half an hour to stroll here, but if you’d prefer to stretch your legs a little longer, you’ve got a list of scenic walking trails to follow. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can follow the route that makes a move up a mountain that forms Baska Voda’s backdrop.
Day trips to Split
It’s less than an hour’s drive to Split, which is a bit of a one-stop shop for a haul of holiday essentials. Whether it’s history, beaches or bars that make your holiday wish list, this place has got you covered. It’s also a great shout if you fancy doing some island hopping, too – ferries take off to both Hvar and Brac Island several times a day. The latter’s the place to go if you want to recline on famous Zlatni Rat Beach.
