Get your fill of fancy food, luxe shopping and shiny skyscrapers on a last-minute holiday to Dubai.
No plan? No worries
If you’re in the market for an impromptu city getaway, Dubai’s a great place to start. There’s so much to see and do here that you don’t need to fret about rigorously seeking out the must-sees. Cloud-piercing landmarks like the Burj Khalifa are visible from all around, and the swanky hotels are never far from sightseeing hotspots around the city.
Stellar sightseeing
No matter where you’re set up in Dubai, you’ll find yourself surrounded by things to do. In the southern portion of the city, near The Palm, you’ll be within striking distance of Dubai Marina, plus skydiving and ski centres. Souks, markets and beaches fill the gap from here to the city centre, where the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and Dubai Fountain all crop up. And as you venture into the northern reaches of Dubai, you’ll find museums, mosques and the 150-metre high Dubai Frame.
Beautiful backdrop
The city limits are also home to Dubai Creek – this waterway’s a great way to get about by water taxi, or to set off on a sightseeing cruise. Elsewhere, away from the hustle and bustle, you can bob along in a kayak through the gnarly mangroves, or sweep across the desert dunes in a 4x4 on a thrill-filled safari. Or, get a taste of the traditional by boarding a dhow boat and sailing along the coastline.
