TUI BLUE Sensatori Atlantica Caldera Palace, Greece

The first hotel to make it into the collection, TUI BLUE Sensatori Atlantica Caldera Palace has clinched a prime slice of Crete’s coastline. Like all the properties in the shortlist, it’s divided up into zones for adults and families – and that includes the five pools. Two of them are focused on families, while one is just for grown-ups and another is all about activities. Plus, there’s a splash pool for dinky swimmers that’s kitted out with tipping buckets, water jets and a swerving slide. Families get an action-packed entertainment programme of shows and activities, and there’s a brilliant kids’ club for ages three to 12 on top of a hangout zone for teens. Worried about feeding fussy eaters? Don’t be. There are seven restaurants plus a café, and the buffet covers a mix of local delicacies and tried-and-tested favourites. Kids get their own low-height buffet station, so they can help themselves.

The Residence at TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Fethiye, Turkey

The Residence at TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Fethiye makes the ultimate escape if some serious R&R is on the cards. For starters, it’s adults-only and has a peaceful, laidback vibe. There’s a huge pool to sink into, plenty of daybeds and sunken sunloungers to relax on, and a wellbeing platform when you fancy unwinding with a spot of yoga. Plus, you can wine and dine any time of day – the Executive Lounge and the Food Repertory buffet are open around the clock. When you want to up the pace, you can also use the facilities at the next-door TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Fethiye as a guest of The Residence. TUI BLUE Sensatori Akra Sorgun has been given a head-to-toe makeover, so it’s more luxurious than ever. There’s a Turkish restaurant in the line-up when it comes to dining, for example, as well as a swish new lobby bar. And you can really max out the 24-hour All Inclusive experience with an overnight diner service – perfect if you’re peckish in the small hours. Beyond the next-level dining scene, this place has a beachfront spot and some seriously stylish rooms to shout about. If you’re in the market for an upgrade, you can splash out on a swim-up room in both the family and adults-only zones – or plump for a suite with a pool all to yourself in the latter.

If you’re partial to a good spa, put TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar on your shortlist. The BLUE® Spa here has an indoor pool with a hydrothermal circuit kitted out with waterfalls, hydromassage seats and micro bubble beds. You get one visit included in your stay for free, and you can relax in the hot tubs, sauna and steam room while you’re here, too. TUI BLUE Sensatori Atlantica Dreams, Rhodes

Fancy heading to the Greek island of Rhodes? TUI BLUE Sensatori Atlantica Dreams is on a pebbly Blue Flag beach in Gennadi, a former fishing village on the island’s south-east coast. It’s about a 30-minute drive from the livelier Lindos and its famous hilltop Acropolis, or you can walk to lots of traditional tavernas for a meal in the local neighbourhood. Speaking of food, traditional Greek cuisine features on the menu alongside international bites at the hotel’s main buffet restaurant, and there are four à la cartes you can pay extra for – an Italian, Greek, American and French eatery. You get three à la carte dinners included per week as part of the All Inclusive package, so it’s fair to say this place is a top choice for foodies.
