Rhodes is one of Greece’s most popular islands for good reason – it’s got a destination for every type of holidaymaker. Here for glorious beaches? Try Pefkos’ Blue Flag stretch for size, or head to picturesque coves like Kalithea and Kolymbia. Clubbing on the cards? Faliraki is the island’s party playground, and the beach here is five kilometres long. Love a bit of history? Rhodes Town is steeped in medieval heritage and – you guessed it – also clocks up a beach of its own.

We’ve picked out some of the best hotels in Rhodes to help you narrow down where to stay on your Greek island getaway.

TUI BLUE Sensatori Atlantica Dreams, Gennadi

Parked up on a pebbly beach in the sleepy village of Gennadi, TUI BLUE Sensatori Atlantica Dreams is ideal if you want a hotel that ticks every box possible. It’s All Inclusive, so a premium buffet and speciality restaurants are all part of the package, as is the TUI-run kids’ club. Evening entertainment is taken care of, too, with family-friendly shows, comedy acts and low-key live music.

Facilities-wise, this place goes big – with two main pools, an activity pool, an adults-only pool and a children’s splash park with slides and sprinklers. Everything is grouped in adults-only and family-friendly zones, so you can pick your pace depending on who you’re travelling with. And the same applies to the activities – which range from pulse-racing fitness classes to yoga sessions on the hotel’s Zen-like wellbeing platform.

Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes, Kolymbia

If family fun is top of your holiday agenda, try Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes. This big hotel is home to an impressive eight pools plus a waterpark, as well as a splash park for little ones. One of the pools has a swim-up bar, one is adults-only and hidden away in the spa, and several line up activities like inflatable canoes and water polo. Plus, the hotel is only a five-minute walk from a pebbly beach, perfect when you fancy dipping your toes in the sea.

Away from the water, activities on offer here cover everything from archery to zorbing, lively kids’ clubs and even an Aerial Adventure course you can tackle as a family. And the dining scene is also worth a mention – you get four restaurants to eat at as part of the All Inclusive package, including an American Diner majoring in proper burgers and an all-important ice-cream parlour. Eating out? A 15-minute walk gets you into the centre of Kolymbia, so you’ve got plenty more bars and restaurants close by.

TUI MAGIC LIFE Plimmiri, Plimmiri

This hotel in away-from-it-all Plimmiri has an authentically Greek feel – from the village-style clusters of whitewashed buildings to the Greek taverna serving up local specialities. Speaking of which, you get one visit to the taverna per stay as part of the All Inclusive set-up here, and the same applies to The Flavour restaurant – where international dishes head up the menu.

The rest of the time you’ll dine at Magico buffet restaurant, and this place really goes to town with colourful spreads prepared by the hotel chefs at live cooking stations. Pick a table on the terrace – it comes with amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea. The two pool bars also serve up sea views, and the hotel is right on the beach – so you can get a close-up look at the water any time you fancy.

TUI BLUE Lindos Bay, Lindos

If you’re planning a child-free trip to Rhodes, the adults-only TUI BLUE Lindos Bay promises a restful break. Things here revolve around a big pool that’s framed by daybeds and borders the beach. That means sea views from your sunlounger are a given, and the waiters will bring your drinks straight to you on the sand. There’s another pool in the spa, where you can pay extra for beauty treatments and massages.

In the evening, themed nights and live cooking are on the agenda in the buffet restaurant, and you can pick from a couple of à la carte restaurants including a beachfront spot. Tribute acts and live musicians top the entertainment bill, but you can relax with a drink at the lobby bar or pool bar if you fancy something a little quieter. We love that the latter also serves cheeky midnight snacks.

TUI SUNEO Faliraki, Faliraki

If budget is a big factor in your holiday planning, put TUI SUNEO Faliraki on your list. It does all the essentials well – from a couple of pools to a buffet restaurant and new snack bar – and it’s recently been refurbished, so everything is nice and fresh. But because it doesn’t go big on all the extra bells and whistles, it’s a great option for a wallet-friendly holiday.

There’s live music here a couple of night a week in the summer, and the pool bar is a popular spot with guests, but otherwise things are pretty low-key. That makes it an ideal base if you want to head into Faliraki. The hotel is a 10-minute walk to the soft sand of Faliraki Beach, and not much further to the party town’s famous bars and clubs.
