Gennadi holidays are all about living like a local. Along with its peaceful beach and family-run dining scene, you've also got easy access to historical Lindos.
Roll out a map of Rhodes, and you’ll find Gennadi in the south of the island, along the east coast. The one-time fishing village isn’t as popular with tourists as nearby Pefkos and Lindos, so it’s held on to a lot of its traditional charm. Along slim-line streets, modern houses are juxtaposed against old-fashioned tavernas.
If there’s one reason to choose Gennadi, it has to be the beach. The thick ribbon of sand and pebbles spreads out for miles and miles either side of the village. You’ll find watersports huts along its length, and some of the best beach bars on the island call the golden swathe home.
Another of Gennadi’s bow-strings is its proximity to landmarks like the Lindos Acropolis, which is just half an hour’s drive away. Rhodes Town, on the other end of the island, is an hour away by bus. Highlights here include churches left by the Byzantines, a UNESCO-rated old town, and a pretty harbour that was once the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Colossus of Rhodes.
