On our family holidays to Italy, we match stunning scenery with hotels that are designed with little ones in mind.
Lots of activities
Italy has an endless offering of family-friendly activities. If you’re near Naples, travel up to Mount Vesuvius. The volcano is famous for destroying the city of Pompeii in 79 AD, but it’s pretty quiet these days. Plus, the hike to the summit takes in some spectacular views. If lounging on the beach is more your cup of tea, try the island. The smart lidos along Lungomare Beach in Sicily come with loungers and parasols, as well as play areas to keep the kids busy. Maria Pia Beach, in Sardinia, is another family favourite, thanks to the shallow water and pine forest backdrop.
Family-friendly hotels
Our Family Life hotels were designed for families from the ground up. You’ll find a couple of them on the Italian island of Sardinia, where sandy beaches and Spanish towns are the order of the day. Lido di Jesolo also brims with child-friendly hotels. It’s the closest big beach resort to Venice — the Grand Canal is only a 90-minute boat ride away.
Lakes & Mountains
Fancy trying something new this summer? Find unique family adventures around Lake Garda and Lake Como, and up in the stunning, UNESCO-protected Dolomite Mountains. Explore picture-perfect lakeside towns, see breathtaking views from the peaks, and get your adrenaline pumping with watersports and trips to one of Europe's largest theme parks, Gardaland.
Looking for a child-friendly travel destination? Consider a family holiday to Italy — you can choose between a hotel, apartment or villa.
