Kalithea’s shoreline is dotted with quiet coves, each often paired with a seaside taverna. The main sand‑and‑shingle beach shelves into clear Aegean water, with sea caves and rocky ledges. Sunloungers even sit on sculptured rocks above the sea. Just below the restored spa is the Kalithea Spa beach, where a €6 entry fee gives you access to its sheltered cove and swimming platforms. Nearby Oasis Beach and Tassos Beach offer world-class snorkelling and relaxed sunbathing in more tucked‑away spots.
Kalithea’s only a short hop from Rhodes Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site crowned by an ancient acropolis and packed with Medieval landmarks. Highlights include the cobbled Street of the Knights, the Palace of the Grand Masters, and the Mosque of Suleiman. Inland, Koskinou’s a great spot for a quiet wander through lanes lined with colourful wooden doors, whitewashed courtyards, and traditional pebble‑mosaic floors. And for some more classic island outings, the Valley of the Butterflies and Anthony Quinn Bay round out the list with nature trails and excellent snorkelling.
