We spent two weekend on this splended resort situated a few km from Rohdos town. The resort has a lagre selection og pools for adults and kids. 10 minuts walk from The hotel you will find a very nice beach surronded by vulcanic cliffs. It is a must to visit this beach. The catering in The hotel is frist class. Free WiFi in all roms. Taxi from hotel to Rohdos city taket about ten minuts and costs about 10 euro. Hellenic food is recommended if you are out for a good meal. If you want to see more of the island we can recommend a trip by bout to Lindos further south on the island.More

5th visit, will we return??
This was our 5th visit to the hotel and everything was as good as previous times. We had a room with limited sea view, there was a safe - €25, tea/coffee facilities, mini fridge with bottled water, can of beer and various other soft drinks. Dressing gown with slippers, bowl of fruit and a bottle of wine, also free wifi available everywhere. The food was as good, especially for a fussy eater and we never had any problems with other nationalities being given preferential treatment, actually it was the other way round, this was due to the fact that we know all the staff very well and they do tend to look after you. We never had any problems getting a sun bed ( some of these are now needing to be replaced) although people do get up at silly o’clock to get one. The one problem that we did experience, which is no fault of the hotel, was lots of mosquito bites, the worse it has been in the last four visits. Did we enjoy ourselves, yes we did, have already booked to return September 2018 for our 6th visit. The only problem we did experience, which is the worst it’s ever been was at the airport. Unfortunately due to the size of it they really can’t cope with four planes landing within half an hour of each other. Luggage was put on the wrong conveyor belts, it took over 20 minutes to get out of the airport then there were only 3 Tui reps to cope with everyone and tell them which coach they needed to be on. This really needs to be addressed before the new season starts next year. This apart can’t wait for next years visit. More

Can't wait to go back! *****
I can't wait to go back to this awesome hotel. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, the setting, staff, service, entertainment, food and drink and situation on island is perfect! I would love to go back here! The complex is huge, we were still finding bars, restaurants and swimming pools in the latter half of our week holiday. Our view was serene, we didn't book or ask for a special room, but what we had was fantastic. There was even a free mini bar in the room too! We were amazed by the food, so tasty and a wide selection. There are so many drinks and beer and wine is self service - what's not to like about that! Would highly recommend! It's the little touches that they did that made it the best holiday ever! To top it off I was proposed to whilst I was there, which made the holiday extra special! *****More
My fiancé and I were here for two weeks. Staff were lovely and we even made friends with a couple of them. Our maid was great and very friendly. Originally we were supposed to be staying at the Eden roc resort but they were closing early for the season so Thomson upgraded us to this hotel at no extra cost, which was appreciated. With the Eden roc, we booked a double room with a sea view room so were told we would get the same in the horizon royal. When we arrived we did face the sea, but were on the bottom floor so couldn’t see any of it. We raised this concern the next day and got moved a couple of days to the top floor, so that was fine. The resort is huge, but there is a mini bus that goes around the complex and takes you wherever you want to e.g the restaurant or the beach. There’s lots of cats too and they are all friendly, it was lovely to sit and cuddle them in the evenings. Food was great and lots of options, unless you’re a vegetarian! Furthermore, sometimes the food wasn’t always hot. There is lots of activities to do around the resort, sports and evening entertainment and you can just tell the staff work very hard. Only reason we aren’t giving the hotel 5 stars is because we feel the Germans are definitely favoured here by some staff. Also, we were right next to some very noisy Germans and called the reception to complain when they kept screaming and shouting on the balcony at 2/3am. First time, the reception phoned their room and told them to be quiet, second time, we were told to call them ourselves. Bit strange as we thought they would take the hotel staff more serious than us. Being German myself, I am certainly not insulting them, but I don’t think it’s right to treat one group of people slightly better than an other. Overall, really good hotel but entertainment and food etc was steered too much to please the Germans and therefore the Greek touch was lost sometimes, which was a shame. But staff work incredibly hard were friendly and always ready to help. Had great banter with most of them!More
not as good this year
got back on the 22-10-17, was there 2 yrs ago and didn't feel that it was as good this yr. Pool towels yes they supply them but had problems trying to change them as you have to try and catch the maid who will change them for you. eventually had to insist that I needed new towels from the reception and then I could leave the other ones on the floor for the maid to change when needed. the food down at the bottom restaurant was not that hot of an evening, so we use the top restaurant where the food was piping hot. Maid service was defiantly was not up to a 4 star standard. One day no bath mat, another day only 1bath towel, room was only cleaned to an average standard. Sides not wiped over, still had ring marks on bedside table, floor not cleaned properly, only smelt floor cleaner the day after I complained. the day we left I checked under the bed to see if we had left anything and it was dirty under it. I know these were only small things but there was something every other day. Room did not get made up until about 3pm. which was a great inconvenience, as you could not use the room until she was done. we did this one day as we were going into Rhodes town, went to the room at 2.45pm and left at 3.15pm we put the DND sign on the door, she obviously came whilst we were changing so the room didn't get done that day. Would still go back again if the price was right as there is so much good at this hotel, it is a beautiful hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful. I would only now rate this hotel as a 3 star. Watch out for the gnats and mosquitos they were well out in force this year. Take spray with you.More
