Top Thailand Multi-Centre holidays

Want to tick off more than one Thai destination on one trip? Here’s how.
Buzzing cities. Beach resorts. National Parks. It’s safe to say Thailand has the goods for a great getaway. But, with so much to see and do, it can be tricky to decide on the best base. That’s where our Multi-Centre holidays come in. They’re just like your usual package holiday – with transfers and flights included – but instead of a stay in a single hotel, they line you up with accommodation in two, three, or even four different places. So, you can spend part of your holiday sunbathing on a beach with a bottle of Chang in hand and the other exploring a jungle in your hiking boots at the opposite end of the country. Sounds dreamy, right?

Khao Lak

Khao Lak is made up of a collection of coastal villages and towns on the country’s southwest coast. It’s one of Thailand’s beachy best – the waters are super clear in this part of the country, so it’s ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling. A trio of national parks give you plenty to explore, whether you’re up for chasing waterfalls or fancy a spot of birdwatching. If you ask us, the 50-minute trek through Koh Lak-Lam Ru National Park is well worth it – the trail finishes up on a secluded beach where you can cool down with a dip in the ocean before making the journey back through the jungle.

Phuket

Phuket – an island off the country’s southwest coast – plays out both sides of Thailand’s personality. Phuket Town’s colourful markets and trademark tuk-tuks give you that big-city buzz, while along the coast, Kamala Beach has only pine and coconut trees for company. If you want a faster pace of beach life, head to Patong Beach where you can take to the water in pedalos, paddleboards and jet-skis. It’s also home to Phuket’s nightlife hub, AKA Bangla Road – a strip packed with bars and clubs on both sides. It’s one of Thailand’s best spots for big nights out.

Krabi

Krabi’s coastline sticks out from the crowd. As well as the turquoise waters and soft sand Thailand is famous for, Krabi adds a touch of drama with huge, jagged limestone rocks towering out of the sea. The perfect backdrop for beach days? Found. Krabi is also a great jumping-off point for trips to the Phi Phi Islands – the fastest ferry from here takes around an hour – where you can follow in the footsteps of Leonardo DiCaprio on a trip to Maya Bay, the iconic stretch of sand from The Beach.

Bangkok

Thailand’s capital might not deal in beaches, but it more than makes up for it with ancient temples, floating markets and buzzing nightlife. A visit to the Grand Palace has to be on your agenda here – the ceremonial home of Thai royalty houses more than just a palace, with a Buddhist temple complex and a museum also part of the mix. Back in the centre of Bangkok, Khao San Road is the place to head for nights out where you can sip on cocktails and tuck in to street food at wallet-friendly prices. If you fancy eating like a local – and you’re feeling brave – lots of stalls serve up a selection of fried insects. It’s all protein, right?

Koh Samui

Our Multi-Centre holidays don’t start in Koh Samui, but you can add a stay here as part of your itinerary. This island is set off the country’s east coast and its story is a tale of two halves. On the south coast, Chaweng Beach packs in lively bars, beach clubs and huge shopping centres filled with local and international shops. Things are much more laidback up on the north coast – Laem Yai Beach is a perfect pick for peaceful beach days as it sees fewer footprints from tourists. Fancy a spot of island hopping? Koh Samui’s puts you within easy reach of two of Thailand’s most-visited islands. Koh Phangan is famous for its full moon parties and it’s only around a 30-minute ferry ride away. Further north, Koh Tao can be reached in less than a couple of hours – it’s a huge player on Thailand’s snorkelling and scuba diving scene.

Grand Tour of Thailand

If you’d rather have a guide to help show you the country’s best bits, you’ve also got the option of a 13-night tour, followed by a stay in Bangkok. The Grand Tour of Thailand will help you tick off everything from the Golden Triangle to Chang Mai’s Wat Phra That Doi Suthep – one of the country’s most sacred temples. Your tour will also include some free days, where you can explore at your own pace. It finishes up in Bangkok, where you can relax for a few days before flying back home.

Elephant Hills

If you’ve already been doing your research on Thailand, we reckon you’ve probably already heard about Elephant Hills. It’s the place to go to see Asian Elephants wander around their natural habitat, all while glamping in the jungle.
