Best hotels in Thailand

Browsing hotels in Thailand? You’ve come to the right place. Whether it’s a city break or beach escape, put these properties on your radar.
Whittling down the best hotels in Thailand is no easy task – this country packs in incredible properties all the way from city pads in bustling Bangkok, to desert-island retreats in Phuket.

Set your sights on Khao Lak, meanwhile – on Thailand’s southwest coast – and the hotels face huge sweeps of white-gold sand. They’re backed by leafy national parks and flanked by seriously scuba-friendly waters, and it’s a similarly beachy affair in west-coast spots like Krabi.

We’ve taken a closer look at some of our favourite hotels to add to your holiday shortlist.

ROBINSON Khao Lak, Khao Lak

You can be as active or as horizontal as you like at ROBINSON Khao Lak. On the one hand, this stylish hotel comes with a peaceful spot on Pak Weep Beach, with away-from it-all tranquillity courtesy of Khao Lak National Park. A relaxation pool, activities like yoga and Pilates, and sunlounging cocoons sprinkled around the grounds set the pace firmly to relaxed.

On the other hand, there are eight more pools to pick from, shows, parties and street food festivals on the entertainment line-up, and a seriously impressive list of activities to pick from. So, whether you fancy playing a game of tennis or beach volleyball, joining a sports competition or taking the bus into Khao Lak in the evening, this hotel has very much got you covered.

Grown-ups can pay extra to head to the spa, for example, for treatments like Thai massages, coffee body scrubs and floral baths. And as well as a big buffet restaurant with a children’s section and a food court serving snacks by the kids’ pool, there’s an adults-only swim-up bar and a choice of smart à la carte restaurants. Plus, you’ve got more in the way of restaurants a 15-minute trip away in town, via the hotel’s shuttle bus.

BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach – Adults Only, Krabi

If an adults-only escape is on the cards, take a closer look at BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach – Adults Only. This luxurious property on Krabi’s coastline ticks off not one, but two rooftop infinity pools, swim-up room options, and a rooftop bar with sea and mountain views.

The hotel scores highly for location, too, with Ao Nang Beach – a postcard-worthy sweep of sand backed by Krabi’s distinctive limestone cliffs – a five-minute walk away. There’s plenty to see and do here including a handful of bars, cafés and restaurants, boats trips that set off from the shoreline in search of scuba diving spots, and a trio of glinting caverns called the Diamond Caves.
