Make the most of Mexico

Mexico’s sandy shores offer the perfect recipe for a sunny getaway in winter. The mercury on either of the coasts – you can pick from the Caribbean Coast or the Pacific Coast – hovers in the mid-20s to low-30s, so get ready for full days of sunshine. On the Caribbean side, the king of Mexico’s holiday scene is Cancun, where the region focuses on swish seafront resorts, bustling clubs and ancient Mayan ruins. Over on the Pacific Coast, meanwhile, Puerto Vallarta and its surrounding activity-filled jungles are the major draws.

Kick back in the Canary Islands

Who said Spain’s Canary Islands are just for the summer holidays? We sure didn’t, that’s why we’ve added hundreds of new breaks to these balmy hotspots for winter 2025 and winter 2026. There's Tenerife, with its big-name resorts like Los Cristianos or Playa de las Americas, and Lanzarote and its lunar like landscapes. Plus, Gran Canaria adds sprawling sand dunes and sheltered coves to the offering, while Fuerteventura goes big on watersports scenes – this island alone has over 150 beaches in its collection.

Explore Egypt

Looking for a sandy stretch to lay your towel? Hurghada’s got plenty up its sleeve. Not to mention there are marinas, malls and a restaurant line-up that includes everything from Egyptian to European cuisine, too. While over in Sharm El Sheik there’s a world-class diving and snorkel scene, complete with kaleidoscopic coral reefs and tropical fish. There’s plenty of action happening away from the beach, too. When you’re not soaking up the sun, you can bump across the dune-filled desert on a 4x4 safari or haggle for a bargain at a local bazaar.

Take things slow in Thailand

You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to tropical holidays to Thailand. This south-east Asian country packs in plenty of big-name locations, including Bangkok, the capital city, and Phuket, an island off the southwest coast that’s known for its beach and nightlife scenes. If you’d prefer to head off the beaten track, plant yourself down in the Phi Phi Islands – they’re home to some of the country’s best-loved beaches. You’ll find them floating in the Andaman Sea, between Phuket and the mainland. Holidays here are all about spotting native macaques during a wildlife tour of Koh Phi Phi – the biggest island – feeling the sand between your toes on an uninhabited beach, and scuba diving around coral reefs.

Relax in the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has that classic Caribbean look down to a T – expect white beaches, swaying palms and pastel-painted towns. Head to the east coast, near the town of Bavaro, and the island also throws glamourous seaside resorts and PGA-worthy golf courses into the mix. Head south down the coast from here to La Romana and things take a more laidback approach. Quiet fishing villages like Bayahibe are the headliners, and are where – according to the locals – you'll find some of the prettiest beaches on the planet.

See the sights in St. Lucia

When it comes to sights, St. Lucia is the Caribbean island that has it all. We’re talking top-tier beaches, soaring mountains and pretty waterfalls. Head to Smugglers Cove and you’ll get soft sand and crystal-clear water perfect for snorkelling in. While Rodney Bay next door, serves up a stylish marina dotted with delicious restaurants, bars and entertainment. You’ll also find two of the islands biggest shopping malls, plus a casino here. And over at Pigeon Island National Park, you can explore ancient forts, crumbling ruins and the rainforest. Hop onto an air gondola and glide through the treetops spotting tropical flowers and exotic birds. If you want to get your adrenalin pumping, go Tarzan-style and ride the zip-line instead. Keep your eyes peeled for the St. Lucia Parrot, their multi-coloured feathers are pretty striking and – as their name suggests – they can only be spotted here.

Meet Santa in Lapland

Lapland, in Northern Finland, is widely regarded as the home of Christmas, thanks to its snow-dusted forest landscapes, cosy log cabins and hefty reindeer population. It’s also where Santa Claus hangs his hat, and the whole area transforms into a festive winter wonderland during the holiday season. During your visit, you can meet the big man himself, visit his workshop and explore bits of Lapland on a husky-pulled sled – plus much more. So, whether it’s a whistle-stop daytrip or a four-day retreat you're looking for, our Lapland winter line-up has something for every family to shout about.
