Our family holidays to the Canary Islands rack up a range of hotels and villas, lively beach resorts and great days out.
From All Inclusive hotels to self-catering villas
Some family hotels in the Canaries are bigger than the island villages. Bungalow rooms, landscaped palm gardens, lagoon-sized swimming pools and miniature waterparks are the theme. And some — like the Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real — have even got a stamp of approval from the home of high expectations, Condé Nast Traveller. Alternatively, check in to a self-catering apartment or villa. They can be great value for money, especially if you’re travelling en masse with the whole clan.
Take your pick of islands
The activity-packed beaches of Tenerife, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria have been wooing families for decades. And the choice of hotels, villas, restaurants and theme parks have risen meteorically as the years have gone on. You could spy alligators and tigers at Loro Parque, swoop down the waterslides at Siam Park or catch a glimpse of humpback whales in the surrounding Atlantic Ocean.
