Best time to go to Puglia
This part of Italy is often dubbed ‘mezzogiorni’ – it means midday and it’s named so because the sun is pretty strong all year-round. Most holidaymakers tend to visit between May and September, when the summer temperatures hit the 30 degree mark. If you’re looking for the hottest days, July and August is the time to come. The sea warms up then, too, so it’s perfect for swimming. In spring and autumn, it can still reach the mid-20s, and is generally sunny. Even in winter, the weather’s relatively mild with the odd rain shower – nothing by British standards, though.
