Health & Safety
You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s worth checking to make sure it covers winter sports such as snowmobile rides, and husky and reindeer sleigh-rides. It’s also a good idea to get a European Health Insurance Card – or EHIC – before leaving the UK. Though it’s not a substitute for travel insurance, it entitles you to emergency medical treatment on the same terms as Lapland residents. It won’t, however, cover you for medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment.
