From June to October the mercury rises even more, but you’ll usually see the odd tropical shower, too. Humidity can be high in this part of the world throughout the year, June to August being especially high– travel between November and April to avoid the worst of it. We would advise you to leave windows and balcony doors closed as much as possible to make the most of the air-con and reduce humidity levels hotel rooms. Hurricane season falls between June and September, but severe storms are pretty rare, and hotels are well equipped in any case. And while we’re on the subject of hotels, you may find that some facilities, such as restaurants and bars, aren’t available from late April to May and from mid-August to mid-November, but there’ll be enough open so you can still enjoy your stay
