See more of Austria with a summer card

There’s so much to explore on a Lakes & Mountains holiday to Austria and a summer card gives you a serious leg-up. Depending on where you’re staying, your card might be included with your hotel, unlocking things like free cable car rides up to the mountains, guided walks with local experts and boat trips across shimmering lakes. You’ll often get bus or train travel thrown in too, plus discounts on all sorts of activities and attractions. Here’s what you could be doing with yours…

Zell am See-Kaprun Summer Card

Wander into Kaprun’s Sigmund Thun Gorge for free with this card – a glacially carved canyon of rushing waterfalls and wooden walkways hugging rock walls. Enjoy free boat trips across Lake Zell, gliding past the historic old town as meadows rise into sharp peaks. Then there’s the Schmittenhöhe – Zell am See’s local mountain – with cable cars (yep, included) whisking you up to 1,965m.

How to get it: Available at check-in with selected Lakes & Mountains stays. Check your accommodation’s page to see if a summer card is included.

What it costs: Free at most Lakes & Mountains accommodations – some may charge a small fee. Not available to purchase locally.

Hippach Guest Card

This gives you money off in some of Mayrhofen's local shops and on the Spannagel Cave tour. Join an expert guide to explore rocky caverns and tunnels under the Hintertux glacier. Back above ground, you’ll also get a discount on tandem paragliding over the Alps – and you can bet the views are absolutely incredible.

This card practically unlocks the mountains. Get free rides on 10 cable cars – one return trip daily – from the Ahornbahn's easy-going walking trails to the 3,250m high Hintertux glacier. Up here, there’s snow in summer and an ice cave – how cool is that? Free local buses make getting around a doddle too.

How to get it: Available at the resort’s local Tourist Office.

What it costs: From €92 for adults, €46 for children aged 7 to 15, and free for children aged 6 and under.
