Canarian Flavours – Canary Islands and Madeira

This seven-night itinerary ticks off five Canary Islands and throws in a day on the Portuguese island of Madeira for good measure. You can choose to hop onboard in Tenerife or Gran Canaria for the Canarian Flavours itinerary, which means you’ve got two options for Cruise & Stay holidays. The best bit? Whichever departure point you choose, you’ll still get to visit the other island at some point during your cruise. You’ll also drop anchor in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and La Gomera. The latter usually stays out of the spotlight when it comes to the Canary Islands, but that’s all part of its charm. Lunarlike landscapes are switched for lush countryside here, and the sleepy capital, San Sebastian, is the perfect place for an afternoon stroll before you get back onboard. Your Canary Island tour will pause for a day to visit Madeira, where you can whizz down a hillside on a wicker basket toboggan, or go wine tasting if you fancy something a little more sedate.

Mediterranean Medley – Western Mediterranean

Fancy ticking off three countries over seven days? Meet the Mediterranean Medley. This cruise sets sail from Majorca’s capital, Palma, and makes its way to the port of Livorno in Italy. From there, you’re only around a 30-minute drive from Pisa, or a 90-minute drive from Florence. You’ll also tick off France, as you drop anchor in Villefranche on the French Riviera. Daytrip to Monaco anyone? It’s less than a half-hour drive along the coast. There’s a second helping of the French Riviera in store on a visit to Toulon. Plus, you’ll also visit a pair of Spain’s biggest cities, with stops in Tarragona and Valencia on the agenda before you head back to Majorca.

Adriatic Affair – Eastern Mediterranean

This seven-night itinerary stops in a trio of Croatian ports and visits Montenegro and Italy. You’ll set off from Dubrovnik to Trieste, where you can get a taste of Italy while sampling locally produced wine and oil. From there, you’ll head to Croatia’s Zadar. While you're here, you can explore Krka National Park’s lakes, waterfalls and forests. From there, it’s back to Italy with a stop in Ancona, where you can take a walking tour and tick off sights like the Arch of Trajan – an 18-metre-high Roman Arch made of Turkish marble. Croatia’s second city – Split – is on the cards, too, before heading to Kotor in Montenegro. While you’re here, you can wander its well-preserved old town and tick off top sights like the Prince’s Palace and the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon.

Phillipsburg in St Maarten is also on the agenda, where you can head off on a duty-free shopping spree, or visit a butterfly farm that’s home to more than 40 different species. You’ll also get plenty of time for sunbathing on the beach with a visit to St Kitts, Antigua and Dominica on the agenda before you make a move back to Barbados.
