I’ve received a message to say that you couldn’t validate my travel documents – what does this mean?
Since the EU Entry/Exit system (EES) is now live, when you check in online, we verify your travel documents and personal details with the EU. This is the automated border control system used across European countries. If you’ve received a message to say “we couldn’t validate your travel documents”, this means the EES couldn’t confirm your information. This could be due to:
- Your passport doesn't meet EU validity requirements
- You've exceeded your allowed stay in the EU/Schengen area
- You need a visa for the EU/Schengen area
- You entered incorrect details during online check-in
What you need to do now:
- If you haven’t already done so, you should still complete your online check-in
- On your departure day, you must visit the airport check-in desk, at least 2 hours before your flight to confirm you’re ready to travel
- Before traveling, please check that:
-
- Your passport meets EU/Schengen requirements
- You haven't exceeded your allowed stay
- You have a valid visa if required
Important:
We want to make sure you have a smooth journey. If you don't meet the requirements, you won't be able to travel with us.
