Advanced Passenger Information (API)

Do I need ETIAS to travel to Europe?

Do I need ETIAS to travel to Europe?

Not yet. ETIAS is planned to be introduced in the last quarter of 2026, and the application form isn’t available yet. There's no need to contact us or take any action at this time.

The European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) will be a pre-travel authorisation for short stays in EU or Schengen zone countries. It’s not a visa, but it will be required once the system is introduced.

What you need to know:

·       It will be required for short stays* in EU or Schengen zone countries

·       Applications will be made through an online form

·       It will cost €20, but will be free for travellers under 18 or over 70

·       Once approved, it will be valid for three years, or until your passport expires — whichever comes first

If you're travelling after September 2026, please check the official EU ETIAS website closer to your departure date for the latest information.

*A short stay is classed as no more than 90 days in a 180-day period.
