Santa Eulalia holidays
Santa Eulalia holidays are based around Ibiza’s third-largest resort town, and the gastronomic capital of Ibiza. They promise boutique shopping, a refined family-friendly atmosphere and flower festivals on the quieter side of the White Isle.
A classy gastronomic hub
Santa Eulalia’s got a lot of things going for it. Not only does it have an enviable south-east coast location with a cosmopolitan vibe, but it also flaunts a culinary capital status as the island’s foodie hotspot, which means the dining scene’s pretty impressive. Our tip? Don’t miss the Calle de San Vicente or Restaurant Street delicacies – they include fresh seafood and traditional stews. When you’re not eating or perusing the art galleries and high-end gifts stacked in upscale boutique windows, you can daydream about living a sophisticated marina yacht life by the water’s edge, too.
Sandy shores and palm-lined promenades
If it’s a beachy break you’re after, you’re in luck. The main Santa Eulalia beach is right in the heart of town, and is 300 metres long. That’s plenty of space for sunloungers, umbrellas and watersports. Plus, it’s got Blue Flag status. For something different, there’s Mariner’s Beach (Playa de los Marinos, to use the local language). This one’s home to Ibiza’s first no-smoking beach initiative, which is great for the local marine life. Elsewhere, you can go for riverside walks along the Rio de Santa Eulalia, a river that flows from the town to the sea. And there are shallow swells for families – Cala Llonga and Es Cana are only around a 10-minute drive away.
Authentic Balearic charm
Santa Eulalia has managed to retain an authentic old-world Spanish feel. Everything from its welcoming town centre plaza to the open and friendly locals that hang around it still ooze bags of traditional Balearic charm. And the authentic island culture, which revolves around a slow pace of life, is very much still a thing – people still round off their days sipping sangria at sunset. There’s a refined nightlife here compared to places like San Antonio, too. Think stylish cocktail bars, rather than super-clubs.
Exploring historic Ibiza Town
It’s just a 20-minute drive to the capital, Ibiza Town, if you fancy doing a spot of sightseeing. From there, you can hike up to the castle walls that sit within the nearby UNESCO-listed Dalt Vila, or head straight to the Santa Maria d’Eivissa Cathedral. It was built in the 13th century, and is a great example of Gothic architecture. While you’re there, you can brush upon the fortress wall history, before heading down to do some luxury yacht watching in Ibiza Marina. Come nighttime, Pacha and other world-famous clubs are nearby, if you fancy going ‘out out’.
