2. Stay in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel

It’s safe to say there are plenty of options when it comes to where to stay in Florida. Our top tip? Stay in a Disney Resort hotel. There are more than 25 hotels to choose from, so it’s easy finding something that suits you. Disney’s All Star Movies Resort is one of the most budget-friendly options. Stay here and you’ll be surrounded by giant Disney Characters, including a few famous faces from Toy Story. Shoutout Woody! If you’ve got a little more hotel budget to spare, take a look at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. It’s set around four savannahs that are home to more than 200 animals, including giraffes and gazelles. Wherever you choose to stay, all Disney Resort hotels come with lots of extra perks, including free transport to the Disney Parks from your hotel. Plus you’ll bag Early Theme Park Entry, which gets you first dibs on selected attractions half an hour before anybody else steps foot through the gates. Smug selfies at the ready.

3. Make a plan for each day

So, you’ve booked your stay and now it’s time to start planning what you’ll do while you’re there. You’re in luck – there are lots of great tools to help you plan your break to perfection. Our Florida Hub is the place to start – it’s got the down-low on everything from booking Disney Dining to height restrictions for the rides and attractions. Then, once you’re in Walt Disney World Resort, the My Disney Experience app is a must-have, too – thanks to its handy maps, you can get to grips with the layout of the parks. You’ll find queue times on here, too, so you can suss out which attractions have the longest queues when and avoid peak times once you’re there. Oh, another last tip… it’s a good idea to pencil in a day of relaxation around the poolside at your Disney Resort hotel, especially if you’ve got lots of long days planned in. Your feet will thank you for it.

4. Make dining reservations as soon as possible

Going hungry isn’t an option at Walt Disney World Resort – there are more than 400 restaurants, cafés, snack trucks and bars to pick from. Quick Service restaurants are the place to head if you’re after a grab-and-go snack while you’re making tracks around the Theme Parks – you don’t need a reservation, so you can pop in to grab a bite whenever it suits your schedule. If Character Dining is on the cards, you’ll need to make sure you’ve booked in advance to secure your spot. Dining reservations can be made starting 60 days before you arrive. Disney Resort hotel guests can start making dining reservations for their entire length of stay (for up to a 10-night stay). It’s definitely worth planning where you’ll eat, so head to the restaurant guide on the Disney website to get started.
