Four Canary Island hotels to watch

Canaries calling? Discover four standout hotels from our Seaside Collection.
It’s easy to see why the Canary Islands are so popular with holidaymakers. Incredible beaches, bustling resorts and vast national parks all bask under the warmth of year-round sunshine. And the hotels in this neck of the woods range from boutique boltholes to All Inclusive showstoppers.

If you’re planning a holiday to the Canary Islands and are wondering where to stay, put Seaside Collection Hotels on your shortlist. These four and five-star pads are spread across locations as diverse as Germany and the Maldives, but it’s the properties with Canary Island postcodes that have caught our attention.

Repeat guests and rave reviews are par for the course at these family-owned properties in Lanzarote and Gran Canaria. Find out what all the fuss is about and see which Seaside Hotel takes your fancy…

When you’ve chosen, stay there for less with our best Canary Island deals.

1. SEASIDE HOTEL SANDY BEACH, GRAN CANARIA

Four words: private hot tub terrace. Hire one out for the afternoon at the four-star Seaside Hotel Sandy Beach and you can make the most of the panoramic sea views from the hotel’s upper floors. From here, you’ll also get a great look at the palm-framed pool, and a birds-eye view of the beach – which is a five-minute walk from the hotel. The centre of Playa del Ingles is the same distance if you fancy a night out, but you’ll need to tear yourself away from the hotel’s big buffet restaurant and even bigger entertainment line-up.

2. SEASIDE LOS JAMEOS, LANZAROTE

Another four-star property in the Seaside Hotels collection, Seaside Los Jameos has clocked up some pretty impressive TripAdvisor reviews. It’s partly down to its cracking location – it’s a stone’s throw from a sandy beach and has the harbour town of Puerto del Carmen a few minutes’ drive away. The buffet restaurant gets top scores from foodies, too. But it’s the 20,000 square metres of landscaped gardens that really make this place stand out from the Canary Island crowd. Inspired by local artist and architect César Manrique, the palm-heavy scenery gives this hotel a seriously subtropical feel.

3. SEASIDE PALM BEACH, GRAN CANARIA

You can take your pick from several board options at all Seaside Hotels properties, but the five-star Palm Beach takes things up a notch with every basis from Bed and Breakfast to Premium All Inclusive. It’s got a real foodie focus, too, with a main restaurant that serves up a buffet barbecue three nights a week, then switches to international à la carte dishes with waiter service for the rest. The outdoor terrace is a great spot to eat with views of the hotel’s leafy gardens, or you can dine inside and soak up the 70s-inspired interiors. Plus, there’s a Mediterranean à la carte and tapas restaurant that open in the winter months if you want to pay a little extra, and live music in the bar for after-dinner drinks.

4. SEASIDE GRAND HOTEL RESIDENCIA, GRAN CANARIA

The only hotel on Gran Canaria that’s part of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World collection, the Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia flaunts its five stars with flourish. It’s designed like an exclusive Mediterranean village, with whitewashed buildings and palm-filled grounds outside, and swanky interiors dreamed up by French designer, Alberto Pinto, once you step indoors. Guests rate the state-of-the-art spa and rave about the gourmet restaurant that showcases dishes by a Michelin-starred chef. If it’s a grown-up, boutique-style escape you’re after, this plush pad is the place.
