The Seaside Los Jameos Playa Hotel is a cut above, offering tropical-look pools and a buffet restaurant that TripAdvisor reviewers rave about.
The Seaside Los Jameos Playa Hotel is a stone’s throw away from the sandy beach. The harbour town of Puerto del Carmen is a few minutes’ drive along the coast.
Local artist and architect César Manrique inspired the hotel’s palm gardens and cavernous, lantern-lit lobby.

Enjoyable family holiday
This was a good hotel for a family holiday ages ranging from 2 to 66 years. Staff are friendly and quick to respond to any request. Rooms are clean and well kept with sheets changed during the week. The children enjoyed the pools and activities like the bingo, mini disco and mini golf. The hotel is right next to the beach and promenade if you want to see more of the local area. Food is buffet style and good, considering the through put of people. The menu changes and there is a variety of choice. The adults and 4 and 6year olds enjoyed the options including the cooked to order items and desserts; which were particularly spectacular for Halloween. There is a pool snack bar for lighter snacks during the day and a waffle and crepe service near the restaurant in the afternoon. Not too long a transfer from the airport. We hired a car for the day to visit Timanfaya National Park to see the volcano craters and have a camel ride. The only improvement we would suggest is free use of the safe in the room.More
Christmas in the sun!
I have stayed at this beautiful hotel twice with my family and we are planning another stay very soon. Our first stay here was over Christmas two years ago. At the time my children were 7 and 8. The holiday exceeded our expectations on every level - room, food, entertainment and Christmas cheer. On both occasions we had a family room in El Hiero with a large balcony and lovely views of the sea, the room and bathroom were spacious and beautifully clean. The food was of an amazing standard. It was fresh, plentiful, delicious and catered for all needs and tastes. The animation team were excellent, our children thoroughly enjoyed the times they attended kids' club, mini disco, the evening entertainment and all the extra Christmas activities which had been arranged. We particulary enjoyed the magician McGerry Gerrard. The pools and pool area were well kept and children being allowed to bring balls and inflatables into the water made it even more fun for the family. We all enjoyed joining in the water aerobics which was offered 2 or 3 times during our stay. We all agreed that it would have been good to have water aerobics everyday to help us work off some of the food and drink we consumed!! Is this something the hotel would consider changing? Overall both holidays were two of the best family holidays we have had as a family so far. If I could change anything, I would provide more diet mixers for drinks eg diet tonic water, diet fanta etc and give more choice of non alcoholic drinks at the pre Christmas dinner drinks - unfortunately only Cava and orange juice were on offer and neither of my children like orange juice. And water aerobics every day!More
The hotel is overcrowded particularly at meal times, this is also apparent around the pool as the sun beds are bumper to bumper. The pool which is supposed to be heated is cold, too cold to use. You have to pay extra to use the safe is your room. The food is okay. The staff are nice. I wouldn’t return.More
Hotel was lovely, very clean and tidy. Food was also of a very high standard - the choice is amazing. Especially all the fresh salads. Most staff very friendly. Would say the choice of drinks on the all inclusive menu is a bit disappointing. Would like to see a few better cocktails on it. Also the food during the day would be nice to be able to get a panini or toastie at the pool bar rather that having to go in for a lunch. Would stay here again, taxi into main town only about 5€. Variety of entertainment. Overall a great stay. More
