The Seaside Grand Hotel Residencia is part of the prestigious Leading Hotels of the World collection. It’s set in tropical gardens, and has a state-of-the-art spa and a fine dining restaurant.
This hotel has been styled like a Mediterranean village, with rows of whitewashed, terracotta-roofed buildings. The grounds are really tropical – palm trees and potted plants decorate the pathways, and balconies are cloaked in bougainvillea.
This is the only hotel in Gran Canaria that belongs to the Leading Hotels of the World collection. It’s got a top spa, interiors dreamt up by French designer, Alberto Pinto, and a restaurant that made it into the 2016 Michelin Guide.

Outstanding boutique hotel.
This hotel is rather special. But you have to be prepared to pay a little more. It is also not set up for families. But for us, as a senior couple, the room was immaculate and well appointed; the pool area attractive and quiet; the food was outstanding; the staff were, without exception, most friendly and helpful which created a pleasant atmosphere and a wonderful holiday. If you wish a sea view, it is not for you (sea and dunes only a short walk away) but the gardens are lovely. No hesitation in giving a warm recommendation. The other reviews encouraged us to go and we were not sorry!More
It doesn’t get much better than a stay at this wonderful hotel. It’s not a massive expanse of concrete but an elegant colonial villa style Hotel. The food is exceptionally good starting with a superb breakfast selection. Exotic fresh and dried fruits cereals cold meats fish a good variety of breads and rolls smoothies omelettes and eggs porridge rice waffles. Teas juices coffee cappuccino sparkling wine. Lovely. The view from the breakfast terrace is fab to the mountains. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked tuna steak with hot horseradish and soy sauce fresh veggie for dinner one evening. We tried their tasting menu too delicious. It is expensive but as the saying goes ‘you get what you pay for’. You (men) must wear long trousers in the restaurant and women need to cover themselves up at the pool restaurant I just used my sarong. There is a nice ‘wellness’ spa and offers on treatments everyday. Our room was beautiful and had a Nespresso machines for coffee. Fresh fruit daily and water. The toiletries were decent l’Occtaine’. The TV has s good selection of English Channels. A fridge with mini bar and selection of snacks. The bed was very comfortable. The room cleanliness was impeccable. The toilet with bidet and fresh towels daily was great. There was a scales in the bathroom too. The jacuzzi was the biggest disappointment when we discovered it didn’t work. They offered us a room change but the faff factor of repacking and unpacking on a short trip made us decide to wait a couple of days to get it fixed. As a goodwill gesture we were allowed to keep our room till our taxi cane on our last day. This was great for us. We did enjoy the jacuzzi once it had been fixed. One other small annoyance was being interrupted in our room a couple of times when we’d put the do not disturb seahorse outside our room. The gardens were beautifully kept and the pool service great with cold flannels little drinks and face sprays given out. Plenty of beds and towels for all. I would definitely stay here again. It’s what a holiday is all about.More
My husband and i have just spent a week at this amazing hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left we were made to feel most welcome and the staff could not do enough to make our stay as relaxing and pleasant as possible. It is a peaceful haven a true oasis. The garden view room had everything we needed, was clean and the domestic staff were courteous to our requirements. All staff were professional and helpful. All public areas were well maintained and clean. The restaurant, where we were advised may have issues with seating, was trouble free. We were advised seating on balcony was limited and given times when the area would be bus. We were able to have a table outside on every visit. We have never visited Gran Canaria but would not hesitate to visit again. I can quite understand why guest make return visits to this first class hotelMore
If you want peaceful luxury with top class service in a small and pretty hotel, book here
My husband and I stayed here for a week with our two friends. It was wonderful from start to finish. A small- ish, nicely decorated hotel in immaculate gardens, this place is for those who appreciate style and luxury and high standards of service. The rooms are well equipped and cater for your every need and are replenished whenever you wish. The breakfast on the terrace is wonderful. Every choice, easy to get a table and not at all crowded or noisy. We didn't eat there in the evenings but only because there were so many restaurants to try nearby on the promenade. We shall try the spa next time too! The pool is very well looked after and the pool guy was brilliant at providing towels. There is a lovely little outside pool restaurant too which was great for lunch. The quality and presentation of all food and drinks is top class. Thank you for letting David play the piano. I can say he is good, and only good players should play it of course. Ours was a Thomson package holiday from Norwich airport. What a perfect little holiday break all round. Thank you to all at The Grand Hotel Residencia. We shall return one day.More

We returned again to our 'home' in the Gran Residencia. We absorbed the peaceful atmosphere, tranquility and perfect service as we sipped our welcome drink on the terrace. This small hotel has exquisite grounds, buildings and, most all, staff. If something is not right for you, which is unlikely if you are there to relax, just ask. Nothing is too much trouble. This is a hotel to spend time in, eat well on fine cuisine and soak up understated luxury. Do not expect sea views, lively nightlife or plates loaded with food, the quality of which you can only measure in quantity ... Just sit back and be pampered in beautiful surroundings. TripAvisor asks for comment on the location; well I don't really know, as after over twenty visits, we have rarely left the hotel but for an early morning walk or run along the seafront to watch the sunrise. As youngsters say these days, 'enjoy'.More
