Each one comes with a beachfront setting, putting you steps away from the Indian Ocean’s clear waters – did somebody say snorkelling? Once you’ve had a read, check out our holidays to Mauritius.

LUX* Grand Baie

We’re kicking things off in style with this hotel – its beachfront setting perfectly complements its designer interiors. LUX* Grand Baie is pitched in – you guessed it – Grand Baie, on the northeast coast of Mauritius. This beach community covers both sides of the coin – its stunning sandy beach provides plenty of room for resting up by day, while its bar-and-restaurant lined strip – AKA Royal Road – provides plenty of options for turning up the party by night. Back at base, the beach club – Beach Rouge – dishes up tasty Mediterranean plates at lunch and dinner, and there’s also an Asian restaurant that serves dishes from a Warayaki straw fire – this ancient Japanese cooking methods gives grub a distinct, smoky flavour. Plus, if you’re travelling as a family, little ones can head to the kids’ club, while adults rest up either at the award-winning LUX* Me Spa, or the rooftop pool which serves up incredible views of the bay. Bliss.

LUX* Le Morne

Things look good from every angle at LUX* Le Morne – it’s sandwiched between a tropical sandy beach and Le Morne Mountain. The latter is one of the island’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. You can take your pick of four pools at this hotel, but if you ask us, the spot with the swim-up bar is where we’d recommend pitching up for the day. If you’d rather top up your tan without getting wet, the waiter service delivers drinks directly to your lounger wherever you are at the resort. Three restaurants complete the dining line-up, including a Mediterranean à la carte and an all-day restaurant that showcases cuisine from different parts of the world on themed nights.

LUX* Belle Mare

LUX* Belle Mare is perched on one of the island’s longest beaches on the east coast of Mauritius, so you can consider oceanfront strolls sorted. This beautiful resort offers five restaurants, including an Indian spot with a menu that’s been designed by a Michelin-starred chef. You can kick your day off with a smoothie from the poolside bar, then choose your tipple in the wine cellar when night rolls around. The large swimming pool takes centre stage at this place – it’s split across different levels, with loungers and palms wrapped around each one. When you’re not lounging poolside, watersports like windsurfing and kayaking are available on the beach. Or, you can show off your culinary skills in a cooking class.
