Best hotels in Majorca

Can’t decide where to stay in Majorca? We’ve picked out the best hotels for your next Balearic Island holiday, to help you narrow down your wishlist.
As Spain’s biggest Balearic Island, Majorca packs in all the options when it comes to things to do. Of course, beaches are top of the list for most visitors – the coastline reels off a long list of tiny inlets, sweeping bays and sandy coves, with an impressive sunshine record to match.

But away from the coast you’ve got traditional villages to explore, nightlife havens like Magaluf to discover, and a glitzy capital city – Palma – to shop your way around. To help you work out exactly where to stay, we’ve picked out some of the best hotels in Majorca – from lively west coast options to relaxed east coast picks.

Once you’ve decided where to stay, take a look at our Ibiza holidays.

Holiday Village Majorca, Cala Millor

Tucked in a small bay on Majorca’s east coast, Cala Millor is an ideal spot for a relaxed family holiday. Things here revolve around the pristine stretch of beach, which is fringed by paddle-friendly waters and backed by a promenade as long as the sand.

Stay at the close-by Holiday Village Majorca, and you get a free shuttle bus to run you down there. Although with six pools, a kids’ splash park and sumptuous spa for adults, there are plenty of reasons to stick around.

Because this hotel is a Holiday Village, guests get an impressive line-up of family activities to pick from, as well as football, swimming and stage academies for children. Evening shows keep things lively come sunset, and there are four restaurants – a big buffet place and three à la cartes – to mix things up at mealtimes.

TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar, Sa Coma

Just south of Cala Millor, the other side of a rocky headland, Sa Coma has a similarly relaxed vibe. The resort’s Blue Flag beach is teamed with a traffic-free prom lined with tapas bars, and there’s a mini-train that’ll whiz you along the coast when you want to get out and about.

Our hotel pick here – TUI BLUE Sensatori Biomar – is a 15-minute walk from the sand and strikes a great balance between family-friendly and adults-only features. Some areas are split into adults and family zones, for example, so active types can join in fun sessions like Aqua Fit in the family pool, while those after a bit of peace can sink into the adults-only pool.

Every Sensatori by TUI BLUE resort has a premium buffet restaurant and at least three speciality places, all as part of the 24-hour All Inclusive package. And this place really pushes the boat out with an impressive six bars and seven restaurants, plus a café for coffees and snacks.

Globales Bouganvilla, Sa Coma

Another top spot in Sa Coma, Globales Bouganvilla has its own waterpark – so you don’t even need to leave the hotel to find slides and chutes including a Black Hole and a 12-metre-high Kamikaze speed slide. There’s a mini splash park for young children, too, plus two pools to dip in and out of.

Away from the water there’s a buffet restaurant, pizzeria and barbecue grill, plus a couple of bars – one right by the pool. If you fancy being active you can join in with things like aqua aerobics and football in the day, then sit down to watch family-friendly shows in the circus-style tent in the evenings.

As for the beach, you can walk to the nearest stretch in 20 minutes – and you’ll find plenty of places to eat out here. Don’t fancy the walk home? Just hop on the mini-train back.

TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins, Playa de Muro

Further up the coast, on Majorca’s north-east side, Playa de Muro is a fishing village-turned holiday resort that’s stuck to its laidback roots. That said, there’s still plenty to see here, including a Blue Flag beach, S’Albufera National Park and plenty of bars and restaurants – plus it’s a 15-minute bus ride from Alcudia.

It’s also where you’ll find TUI BLUE Alcudia Pins, which has claimed an enviable spot right on a gold-sand stretch in Alcudia Bay. It’s got a great track record for family holidays, with professional-led entertainment, kids’ clubs for all ages, and a list of activities that spans everything from fun fitness classes for families to cycling trips and watersports sessions you can pay a bit extra for.

Pool-wise, you’ve got options. There’s the main one – a big pool with a slide and a built-in whirlpool bath – and a quieter option for when you just want to relax. Tots get their very own pool complete with a waterslide, as well as an action-packed splash park.

TUI SUNEO Santa Ponsa, Santa Ponsa

Over on Majorca’s south-west coast, Santa Ponsa is the place to head if a lively location sounds like your idea of holiday heaven. Things here are buzzier than the east coast, with a popular beach and plenty of bars and restaurants steps from the sand. Plus, Palma Nova and Magaluf are 10 minutes down the road, and the capital, Palma is a half-hour drive away.

TUI SUNEO Santa Ponsa has claimed a spot right in the centre of things, so you’re only a five-minute wander from the beach. It’s also a good option if you fancy getting stuck into some activities while you’re away – there are things like water polo and aqua aerobics in the pool, and table tennis and football in the grounds.

The hotel is All Inclusive, so expect big buffet spreads in the main restaurant and a good selection of drinks at a couple of bars. The pool bar scores extra points thanks to a snack menu of fresh pizzas, burgers and hot dogs – all within steps of the water.
