1. ADULTS AND FAMILIES CAN HOLIDAY IN HARMONY

This spread-out hotel lets families with children have a fun time without suffering the eye rolls of other guests, and those looking for a bit of child-free peace and quiet to find it with ease. There are six pools - two are well-suited to families, plus there’s a tucked-away splash pool with jets and tipping buckets. And, on the opposite side of the resort, well out of earshot, you’ll find a duo of adults-only pools. The main buffet restaurant offers an adults-only section for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As an alternative option, guests without children can eat breakfast al fresco at the Red Saffron Greek Taverna.

2. YOU CAN DINE ON MICHELIN-STYLE FOOD

Being All Inclusive as standard, TUI SENSATORI Atlantica Caldera Palace lets you try a range of different cuisines without racking up a large bill. The speciality restaurants include Tex-Mex, Thai offerings, both of which are included in the price. But, for extra-special nights, there’s Al Dente, a restaurant whose menu’s been designed by a Michelin-Starred chef. This restaurant is chargeable, but serves up impressive dishes like whole lobster tail and creamy mushroom risotto.The Japanese restaurant costs a little extra, too – expect premium sushi to be top of the menu.

3. THE SPA HAS 23 TREATMENT ROOMS

Our TUI SENSATORI collection majors in indulgent spas, but this hotel in particular is worth writing home about. We’ve teamed up with ELEMIS, the UK’s luxury skin care brand, to create a never-ending treatment list. Choose from rejuvenating scrubs, chocolate and honey massages, and detoxifying facials. And, with 23 treatment rooms, you won’t have to wait long to book yourself in. You’ll even get free use of the steam room and sauna if you’re having a treatment.

4. SWIM-UP ROOMS AND ROOMS WITH PRIVATE POOLS ARE ON OFFER

All rooms at TUI SENSATORI Atlantica Caldera Palace come with a balcony or terrace, and air-conditioning in the summer months. If you love taking a morning dip, upgrade to one of the swim-up rooms, where you’ll be just steps from the water. Or, opt for a room with a private pool - these swish suites come with nice touches like whirlpool baths and Nespresso machines. You can even buy an inflatable from the little onsite shop and laze for hours in the pool without interruption.

5. THE WI-FI IS AS GOOD AS AT HOME

With such beautiful surroundings in sunny Crete, we're sure you’ll have no real need to be on your phone... save sending your friends daily brags on WhatsApp and posting those views on Instagram. And, during the summer months there’s a weekly night market just next to the main restaurant. Local Cretans come to showcase a range of crafts at very reasonable prices. It’s a small affair, but you’re likely to see stalls selling jewellery, oils, liqueurs, and handmade leather goods – it’s worth heading here to snoop out a souvenir.

7. THE ENTERTAINMENT'S TOP NOTCH

Whether it’s after-dinner drinks while a soft piano plays, or an all-singing, all-dancing show, there’s something for everyone at this hotel. The Boardwalk’s the main hub of entertainment, with nightly shows of West End-style performances and tribute acts to the likes of George Michael and Robbie Williams. For late-night laughs, there’s an adults-only comedy cellar once a week. And, the PlayHouse children’s club puts on everything from the Silly Science Lab, to the Crazy Kitchen to keep your little ones occupied. The entertainment team are based in resort too, so you’ll often hear them practising that evening’s performance in the show area if you fancy a sneak preview.

8. YOU'RE CLOSE TO THE AIRPORT

If you’re travelling with little ones in tow, this news will be welcome. TUI SENSATORI Atlantica Caldera Palace is just a 25-minute transfer from the airport, so your holiday starts sooner. You’ll also get the perk of being in a TUI SENSATORI-specific coach, so you won’t have to stop off at other hotels on your journey.

9. HOTEL-AIRPORT CHECK IN

To help you make the most of your time away this hotel offers its own airport check-in service. On your last day in resort, you can take your passport and luggage down to reception and check it in with our partners, Swissport, just like you would do at the airport. You can then get on the transfer coach with just your hand luggage, and when you get to Heraklion airport, skip straight through any check-in queues and walk straight through to security.

10. SPREAD THE COST OF YOUR HOLIDAY

If you’re booking more than six months in advance, you can spread the cost of your holiday with our Direct Debit scheme. The system’s easy. You set up your Direct Debit online – no paperwork needed – and then make your monthly payments to cover the rest.
