Hurricane Melissa | Jamaica travel advice

We're closely monitoring Hurricane Melissa as it moves across the Caribbean. Due to the temporary closure of Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, flights are experiencing significant delays. We want to reassure our customers that their safety and wellbeing remains our absolute top priority.

We understand this is an unsettling time and ask that customers currently in Jamaica continue to follow the advice of local authorities and their resort teams.
We are doing everything we can to support you and get you home safely.
Package customers
Due to the temporary closure of Sangster International Airport, your flight home will be delayed by a few days. Our teams will continue to monitor the evolving situation and work to confirm the next available flight schedule as soon as possible. We’ll be in touch as soon as we have more details, including your revised departure and coach pick-up times.
In the meantime, our local teams have already extended your hotel accommodation and are on hand to support you. If you need any additional help, please contact us via the TUI app, call our TUI Guest Experience Centre on +44 203 830 3111, or speak with your local TUI Representative.
Flight-only customers
Due to the closure of Sangster International Airport, your return flight will be delayed by a few days. . We kindly ask that you to speak to your hotel or accommodation provider to extend your stay. We will be able to support you by reimbursing all reasonable accommodation, transport and meal costs. We have been in touch directly to share details of this process.
Our teams will continue to monitor the evolving situation and work to confirm the next available flight schedule as soon as possible.

Due to the closure of Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, we have had to delay a number of flights.
We know you've been looking forward to your holiday, and we're carefully assessing the constantly evolving situation. We have already contacted impacted customers who were due to depart prior to the 30th October to let them know about their options. The Entry Exit System (EES)

From 12th October 2025, the EU is starting to roll out a new system called the Entry/Exit System (EES). This will happen gradually across EU and Schengen zone countries over six months.

Preparing for airport security

While UK airports are installing new scanners to prepare for changes in security restrictions, at this time you should still follow current guidelines as not all airports have changed and destination airports still have these restrictions in place for your flight home.
