Middle East Update

Updated: 13/03/26

We are currently monitoring the evolving situation across the Middle East and the latest guidance issued by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

As of 1 March, the FCDO advises against all but essential travel to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar and Bahrain.

FOR CUSTOMERS CURRENTLY IN THE UAE OR QATAR

Our priority is the safe return of our customers to the UK and we are working closely with airline partners to monitor developments.

A limited number of flights have begun operating, and we are continuing to work with airlines to secure travel arrangements for affected customers.

Customers will be contacted directly as further travel options become available.

In the meantime, the current FCDO advice is that individuals in the UAE and Qatar remain indoors and shelter in place as a precautionary measure. Please follow local guidance, remain in your hotel or accommodation and avoid non-essential travel.

FOR CUSTOMERS DUE TO TRAVEL TO THE UAE OR QATAR OR TRANSIT THROUGH

Due to airspace restrictions in parts of the region, flights to and from the UK have been impacted and will experience delays or cancellations.

If you are due to travel to, or transit through, the UAE or Qatar on or before 31st March, our pre-travel team will contact you ahead of your departure date to discuss your options. We are working through bookings in departure date order.

If you would prefer to speak with us sooner, please call 0203 451 2688.

Please note we are currently receiving a high volume of calls and there may be a delay in answering. We appreciate your patience while our teams assist customers.

Middle East Conflict: Information for customers due to travel

Reviewed: 13/03/2026

We’d like to reassure customers that their safety and wellbeing remain our highest priority. We are closely monitoring the evolving situation in the Middle East, as well as the latest guidance issued by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

There is currently no FCDO advice against travel to the destinations where we are operating. Holidays are continuing as planned, and customers in resort are enjoying their breaks as normal.

We continually review all FCDO updates, and if any changes to travel advice affect upcoming holidays, we will contact impacted customers directly. TUI will never operate holidays to any destination or region where the FCDO advises against all but essential travel.

For the latest official information, customers can refer to the FCDO Travel Advice website.

The Entry Exit System (EES)

Updated: Friday 13 February 2026

The EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) is now up and running, and it’s being introduced across more airports and border points in the EU and Schengen area. At some airports, you might still find longer queues, particularly at busy travel periods. We know this isn’t the travel experience you want before, or after your holiday - and it’s certainly not the one we want for you - so please know we’re doing all we can to support.

To help your journey run as smoothly as possible, please allow a little extra time when passing through border control. Keep any essential medication in your hand luggage in case of delays, and when departing the EU, head straight to passport control after dropping your bags to avoid hold‑ups. Bringing some extra water for comfort is also a good idea.

And if you think you might need any support or assistance at the airport, please let us know before you travel, we’re here to help.

Preparing for airport security

Updated: Tuesday 15 April 2025 | 15:10

While UK airports are installing new scanners to prepare for changes in security restrictions, at this time you should still follow current guidelines as not all airports have changed and destination airports still have these restrictions in place for your flight home.
