We know travelling isn’t on the cards right now, but that doesn’t stop us dreaming…
Dreading the thought of wrapping up in a hat, scarf and gloves just to pop outside? Head to these toasty destinations and swap that winter jumper for a bikini. From relaxing on the world’s best beaches, to exploring historic landmarks, here are the destinations around the world to spend December. Take a look at our deals page to get booking...
If the winter blues have got you dreaming of a sunny beach break, December is the ideal time to visit Cape Verde. Made up of 10 islands, this African country has loads of coastline on offer. And, being so close to the sea means plenty of fresh seafood – lobster and shrimp are staples in the Cape Verdean diet. As Cape Verde is flat, there’s pletny of wind to keep the humidity nice and low, making it the perfect weather to try out some water sports, like kitesurfing.

Average temperatures hover in the mid-20s in Mexico. So, whether you’re basking in the sun on Cancun’s 22 kilometre stretch of sand, or exploring sights like New Wonder of the World, Chichen Itza, there’s no way the cold is going to ruin your fun. And, if you book a holiday in December, you can expect up to 11 hours of sunshine a day – which gives you plenty of time to explore Mexico’s dreamy white sands.

December is the start of Costa Rica’s dry season, and temperatures reach highs of 31C. With the rainy season over, it’s the best time to visit the rainforest, as the trees will be lush and green. Soar through the treetops on our zip-lining excursions, and spot wild animals like sloths and parrots. Plus, Costa Rica translates to ‘rich coasts’ – so you’ll find the perfect mix of beaches and jungle.
