Do I need to pay local taxes in my destination?

In lots of our holiday destinations, tourist taxes are set by national and/or local Government authorities, then collected locally by your hotel when you arrive. These taxes have different names in different places and are sometimes called sustainability taxes. Some are used to help support local infrastructure and develop facilities for visitors. Others simply raise money for national or local Governments.

The amount usually depends on the official rating of your accommodation, not our TUI T-rating. They might be charged per person or per room, per night or per stay. Some areas cap the number of nights you'll pay for, and some don’t include children.
