Repositional and Transatlantic cruises
What is a repositioning cruise?
-
Just like you, our cruise ships like to chase the sun. And that’s where repositional – or repositioning cruises – come in. These types of itineraries usually take place around the end of a season. For instance, a ship might cross the Atlantic from Europe to the Caribbean for winter – and vice versa. This is known as a transatlantic cruise. On the other hand, there are some that don’t involve Atlantic travel and stay closer to home – just leaving and getting back into a different Mediterranean homeport.
Where do they go?
-
Repositional cruises are a great, affordable way to travel, if you’re not worried about returning to the same port you left from. Depending on the itinerary, you’ll have the chance to explore Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. You can set off from Cyprus and end up in Oman, start in Palma and finish in Barbados on an Atlantic crossing, or tick off a whole lot of the Mediterranean by sailing from Cyprus to Palma.
What’s there to do?
-
They might include a few more days at sea than your standard cruise itinerary, but you won’t be short of activities to try. Some of our repositional and transatlantic cruises have special classes and shows for you to dive in to while you’re out on the big blue. You can choose to set sail on a family-friendly or an adults-only ship. The former flaunt rock climbing walls and outdoor cinemas, while the latter have state-of-the-art spas and nightclubs. Whichever one you choose, you can also expect daily West-End-style performances, lots of restaurants and bars, and our iconic first-class service.
