Holidays to Trianda bring you peaceful evenings and laid-back tavernas, with the shops and historic sights of Rhodes Town within easy reach.
Well positioned
Trianda is a small, laid-back place on the west coast of Rhodes. Hotels line the waterfront, while up in the village – about half-a-mile away – there’s plenty of traditional Greek charm in the tavernas. You’re in a top position in lots of ways here. There are ancient ruins in the pine-covered hills, the very lively Faliraki is close by, and Rhodes Town is literally just up the road.
A beach with a breeze
Trianda comes with a pebble-and-shingle beach that’s backed by hotels, cafés and restaurants. It’s very popular with windsurfers, who come here to make the most of the famous meltemi winds, which are at their best during the afternoon shift. Neighbouring Ixia – about 10 minutes’ bus ride away – also takes advantage of the breeze, and there’s a sandier stretch here for sunbathers.
Daytrips to Rhodes Town
You can be in Rhodes Town in 15 minutes. There’s a new part filled with modern shops, bars and restaurants, but it’s the old part that UNESCO really rates. Walk through one of the gates into the narrow, cobbled streets and you’re back to Medieval times. Two of the most famous sights are the 16th-century Street of the Knights, lined with old inns, and the Palace of the Knights.
