Get away from it all

We stayed in the Secret Oasis Villa Violetta end of March / early April. It really is the perfect escape from the norm, it's peace and tranquility at its best.
All you can hear are the bees buzzing, the birds singing, and you may get an owl visit at night.
A couple of times a day you may find the locals take their dogs out, so yes, you may may hear a bit of barking, but it certainly didn't bother us.
We found the pool man and owners to be very helpful, we asked if we could light the open fire, as the evenings in March can be quite chilly, the next morning they were there with a radiator, nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The villa has everything you need, and we are looking forward to a re-visit one day.

ret Oasis Villa Violetta
We visited from 22nd Aug to 5th Sept
This villa is in a great location if you want total peace and quiet away from everyone and all noise, it’s very peaceful and silent, which is just what we wanted. I have read some reviews of noise from dogs but we only heard a dog crying for a bit a couple of times then it stopped.
You can find the exact location if you have the “what three words” app.
The words to find the location are
:-///survey.augment.consisted.
Or the Geotag; 34.853674,32.400772
A little bit difficult to find as it’s off a sharp turn down a steep hill on the right and there’s only a little sign in the bushes with the name on it.
It’s set up in the hills and looks out onto a large hill with nothing around it, apart from the owners second villa which is approximately 200 yards away. You can see the sea through the hills when you stand up and look out. If the pool pump house had been placed in a better place there might have been a better sea view.
A downside for some people might be, you need a car as it’s 36 minutes walk from the villa to the Coral Bay roundabout, which we logged on a walking app. But it is mostly downhill.
The cheapest taxi we found was Lazaros Taxi www. Cyprus-taxi.com. He has a mini bus that seat 6-8.
From here to Coral Bay strip it’s €12 each way and €25 each way to Pathos harbour area.
There is a bus from Coral Bay into the harbour every 10 minutes for €2.50 each way. If there’s a group of you a taxi is cheaper.
Entrance
There was no bulb in the outside porch area so you’ll need a torch if arriving at night, to see the key box. The owner sent us a txt with the code before we arrived.
There is a slot for the key fob next to the door, for the electric to work.
You have to lock the door as it doesn’t lock on it’s own, then put the key in the slot.
Thomas the owner had left us a note on the table with the wifi code and his number if we needed anything.
The wifi did drop on and off quite a lot.
We didn’t get a visit from him or a TUI rep but that was ok for us.
Living Area
Furniture is traditional, one 3 and one 2 seater settees, not that we spent anytime indoors as it is August/Sept and really hot. Dining table with 6 chairs, corner unit with a variety of books, playing cards people have left and a cupboard with drawers in it. TV and DVD player.
Bedrooms
The villa has 3 rooms. on the ground floor, 1 double with en-suite bath, shower and toilet and a useful safe in the wardrobe, 1 twin with a separate bathroom next to it and 1 twin with en-suite toilet and shower upstairs.
I opened the far window in the twin room downstairs as it was so hot when we arrived, but couldn’t lock it again as it had obviously been broken before and fixed to close, but I rang the owner and he came within the hour to fix it for us.
Pool Area
There is a lovely pool which is cleaned 3 times a week. The pool itself needs a bit of attention, needs sealing under the ridge tiles and a bit of paint around the top, but that doesn’t stop you enjoying it.
There are 6 sun beds and 1 parasol but there is plenty of shade under a very large covered patio area, and also after lunch on the right side of the pool which is shaded by trees. Don’t leave anything that the ants might like on the floor, they’ll find it in no time ha ha! The pool rules state shower before entering the pool, but there is no outdoor shower. There’s a hose pipe that could be put on a stand by the BBQ area which would make a good outdoor shower.
There’s a maiden and a washing line round the back so you can wash and dry your clothes before you go home or during your stay.
There’s no cushions for the sun loungers which do get uncomfortable.
Most villa don’t supply them but I think they should for the price you pay.
Air conditioning
When booking with Tui it does not state air conditioning, there is some in the bedrooms but this has to be paid for daily at a cost of €7 per day per unit. The bedrooms stay quite cool for a while after the air con has been turned off and it doesn’t take long to cool the room when you turn it on.
Kitchen
The kitchen has enough crockery, a few more cereal bowls would be good as there are only two small ones, but plenty of other plates, utensils etc if you wish to cook.
Don’t leave any food out though, as Cyprus does have an ant issue, which you get anywhere. We get this in most Villa’s, we have started in, no idea how they get in but they are onto anything at all if you leave the tiniest crumb or sweet thing out. We found that leaving water in the bottom of the sink worked quite well to keep them away. I think some sealant around the kitchen worktops might be a good idea as there is a gap.
There’s an electric hob, built in oven, dish washer, washing machine, fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and microwave.
Bathrooms
The cleaners had not left us any toilet rolls, but we contacted the owner and he very kindly got some for us.
Misc
Some more clothes hangers would be good as they were only in the double room.
Other reviews have said this villa is dated but I would say it’s just traditionally furnished, it’s very clean and tidy. The cleaners were there for over an 1hr or so on Sunday, stripped the the beds mopped the floors and cleaned the bathrooms etc, but they didn’t leave any spare toilet rolls again, obviously you need to buy those.
Shopping
If you’ve booked through TUI you’ll have a car included but If you don’t, there’s a supermarket called Philippos along the main road which is great. You can do your shop and they’ll take you and your shopping back to your villa for free too!
TUI
* A layout of the villa would be helpful as we didn’t know there was a separate bathroom which was good to know.
* When booking online it did not state that air conditioning was billable separately at €7 per unit per day. (That would normally be included in the price when booking with others) I can see that that’s because you may not need it in the winter months but you definitely do need in the summer and could be selected or not. It would be helpful if there was a choice to pay for air conditioning when booking as otherwise you have to pay the pool man, who has to come and turn it on for you. We did ask TUI to arrange for it to be turned on for us on arrival, as we were arriving late and if it’s not just contact the owner who is very helpful.
* The car that comes with the booking is a very small Kia so you need to upgrade if there’s more than two of you. An upgrade to a Kia Sportage was an extra £250 for 2 weeks on 22nd Aug as we had 4 of us, but obviously prices vary depending on time of year.
To sum up, we really enjoyed our stay in Villa Violetta and would love to come back again.😊
