Lombok’s weather is similar to its next-door neighbour, Bali. It has a hot-and-sticky rainy season from October to March, then a dry season from April to October. That said, the island generally gets less rain than Bali, with downpours generally only lasting an hour or so. Temperature-wise, you’re looking at year-round averages of 26 to 29°C. Keen surfers should look at heading here between April and November, when the waves are at their best.
You currently need a visa to enter Indonesia. You can purchase this at a cost of IDR 500,000. If you’re travelling to Indonesia for more than 30 days, you should apply for a visa before you travel, or get a visa on arrival at a cost of US$35, or the equivalent in Indonesian rupiah. This type of visa is valid for 30 days. For a small fee, you can apply through our visa and travel authorisation partner – Sherpa. Your passport should be valid for a minimum period of 6 months from the date of your departure from Indonesia. To enter Indonesia, all international travellers must fill out an electronic self-declaration form called SATUSEHAT Health Pass. To avoid delays on arrival it’s recommended that you complete this prior to your departure. Once completed a barcode is generated that you’ll need to present to authorities on arrival.
