Best time to go to Indonesia

Indonesia covers an area as big as Europe and spans two oceans – so the weather depends largely on which patch you pick. In most places though, it’s the dry season between May and September, with odd but heavy downpours taking place throughout the rest of the year. Temperature-wise, it’s much the same everywhere you go – the average is a toasty 28°C all year round.

Passports & Visas

To enter Indonesia, your passport must have an expiry date at least six months after the date you arrive and have at least two blank pages. You must also have a visa:

Once you have your visa, you must complete the All Indonesia arrival card using the digital portal within 72 hours of your departure. This form replaces multiple separate processes including health and customs declarations, and you'll receive a QR code via email that must be presented upon arrival.

For the most up-to-date passport and visa info, visit the Government website for Indonesia’s travel requirements. Don't forget to arrange your travel money and insurance before you go.

Health & Safety

You should take out comprehensive travel and medical insurance to cover you while you’re away. It’s a good idea to visit your doctor a month or so before you travel for advice on vaccinations. For the latest health and safety information, visit www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/indonesia/health.
