Top All Inclusive hotels in the Dominican Republic

Dreaming of the Caribbean? These Dominican Republic hotels do All Inclusive in style.
The Dominican Republic has become a firm favourite with holidaymakers looking for reliable sunshine without the marathon flight times of other Caribbean islands. But when it comes to where to stay, it can be tricky to whittle your options down – the Caribbean’s not short of incredible hotels, after all.

If All Inclusive tops your list of hotel must-haves, you’re in luck – because this part of the world does All Inclusive resorts in style. We’ve pulled out five hotels in Punta Cana, one of the Dom Rep’s most popular resorts, that show exactly why this place keeps floating to the top of holiday wish-lists.

Bahia Principe Grand Aquamarine

This adults-only hotel in Punta Cana strikes that sweet spot between lively and laid-back. It’s set on a private sweep of white-sand beach and home to a huge pool complete with a swim-up bar.

Restaurant-wise, the All Inclusive package here includes a big buffet restaurant with international dishes and themed nights, plus a pair of à la cartes featuring gourmet French food and Japanese-Peruvian fusion flavours. What’s more, you get access to the facilities at two sister hotels as a guest here, which means plenty more in the way of restaurants, pools and bars.

Riu Palace Bavaro

Riu Palace Bavaro is practically on the beach – the only thing between you and the Caribbean Sea is a patch of palms. It’s also 24/7 All Inclusive, which means you can make the most of this hotel’s impressive dining line-up around the clock. And it really is impressive – there are 10 places to eat and drink, including a buffet restaurant and six à la carte spots that include Mexican, Asian and Italian cuisine.

The list of facilities is just as appealing, with six pools – two with swim-up bars – and the hotel’s very own waterpark open six days a week. Factor in a couple of swimming spots just for kids, and it’s no wonder families rave about this place.

Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda

Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda is right on a white-sand beach in Bavaro, so the outlook is as classically Caribbean as you’d expect. The sand is dotted with loungers, bars, massage gazebos and there’s also a watersports centre. You can make use of free kayaks and snorkelling gear as a guest here.

Food-wise, you’ve got the main buffet plus a choice of speciality restaurants, along with several bars spread across the complex. There are two pools to pick from – including a large lagoon-style option with a swim-up bar – and a spa you can pay a bit extra for when you fancy slowing things down.

Dreams Flora Resort & Spa

This ultra-stylish spot in Bavaro really makes the most of its beachfront setting. It features a pair of swimming pools including a sea-facing infinity spot, and lots of the hotel’s restaurants and bars are also pulled up right next to the shoreline, with sweeping Caribbean Sea views.

Elsewhere there’s a waterpark packed with waterslides and a pool for kids, clubs for both children and teens, and activities like scuba diving intro sessions in the pool. As for winding down, you’ve got eight restaurants including five à la carte places, a whopping 13 bars, and an all-important state-of-the-art spa.

Royalton Splash Punta Cana An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort

This place certainly lives up to its name, with a supersized waterpark packed with slides, splash zones and a lazy river that’s a big hit with both kids and adults.

When you want a change of pace, there’s a palm-dotted beach close by – you can stroll down to the sands in around 10 minutes via the hotel’s sister property, the Royalton Punta Cana. You get access to some of the restaurants here, too, meaning you can really make the most of the hotel’s All Inclusive set-up across not one but two properties. The options range from gourmet dishes at Royalton Splash’s Italian à la carte restaurant, to casual bites at the next-door Royalton’s very own pub – so you can pick and choose depending on your mood.
