1. TUI MAGIC LIFE BODRUM, TURKEY

There’s a selection of five bars at this hotel, so you’re more than covered when it comes to refreshing drinks and tasty snacks like ice creams. But it’s the beach bar that tops our list. It doubles up as a poolside drinks spot, too, so it’s easy to switch between pool and sea swimming. And decor-wise, it doesn’t just rely on a sprinkling of sand to give it some style. For starters, it upgrades its bar stools to swings, so you can sway while you sip. The sea views are on another level, too – the Aegean coastline’s super photogenic.

2. NOVOTEL PHU QUOC RESORT, VIETNAM

The Novotel Phu Quoc is pulled up next to one of Phu Quoc island’s best-looking beaches. So it’s no wonder, really, that the hotel’s decided to make the most of its position with a sand-side bar. The aptly named Ocean Bar sits on the edge of Troung Beach, and opens its doors at 10am, so it’s on hand for your all-day sunbathing sessions. Plus, it’s known for being a top spot to come to watch the sunset.

3. TUI SENSATORI ATLANTICA DREAMS RESORT AND SPA, GREECE

The TUI SENSATORI Atlantica Dreams Resort and Spa sits shoulder-to-shoulder with a Blue Flag beach. This shingle-scattered stretch is popular with both locals and holidaymakers visiting Rhodes. And thanks to the Bhodi Beach bar, you’ll have VIP access if you stay at this hotel. The whole family’s welcome at this laidback spot, but if you fancy some peace and quiet, you can head upstairs to the rooftop adults-only Bhodi bar. Keep an eye out for the swanky sundowner cocktail parties that the beach bar hosts, too.

4. TUI SENSATORI IBIZA, BALEARIC ISLANDS

The TUI SENSATORI Ibiza’s set on a hillside, so great views are a given on the sea-facing side of the hotel. But if you want to get up close and personal with the beach itself, the T-Beach restaurant and bar is the one for you. Pick between lily-white daybeds – which come with waiter service included and sit right on the sand – and a selection of shaded tables and chairs. If you fancy trying the food, hot-stone steaks and fresh fish are on offer.

5. SANI BEACH, GREECE

The Blue Flag beach that this hotel’s set on unravels for an impressive seven kilometres, so you’ll be in need of a drink after you stroll the length of its sands. The good news is, if you’re staying at Sani Beach, the Bousoulas beach bar’s got your back. In the day, you can take a break from the sunshine and pick your favourite tipple from a menu of refreshing drinks, or tuck into a light lunch. Come evening, the Bousoulas beach bar is the place to be for a sunset cocktail on the sand.
