Dust off your passport and bag a holiday deal – chill time, incoming...

Thailand

Keen to kick back in the quiet? Thailand’s the place. From the jungle greens of the north to the soothing shores of the south, you won’t be disappointed however you choose to unwind. Chiang Mai – with its walled old city, tumbling waterfalls and a truckload of temples, has an enviable slow tempo. Mae Kampong (just an hour from Chiang Mai) is a dream destination, too. It’s a quaint Japanese-style village sitting high in the mountains. Locals and tourists flock here to bask in the friendly community spirit and sample ‘sai oua’, a locally made Thai sausage.

Hotel pick? TUI BLUE The Passage bases you by one of Koh Samui’s most scenic belts of sand – ideal for a quiet getaway.

Jamaica

From quiet island corners to Negril’s Insta-famous Seven Mile Beach (the clue’s in the name), Jamaica’s soundtrack is relaxed, on repeat. Put your phone on ‘do not disturb’ and soak up all the island offers. Our pick? Martha Brae River. Legend says the river was named after a local woman who cursed the water, causing it to run backwards. This place is serene to a tee – bamboo rafts glide along the river, led by local guides. Bring your swimming gear for a chance to dip in the clear waters.

Mauritius

Boasting beaches, mountains and forests, Mauritius has all the ingredients for a go-slow getaway. The perfect way to unwind? Spending your time on or in the Indian Ocean. Snorkel around the island’s colourful coral reefs at Black River and Tamarin Bay or paddleboard around Grand Baie – you’ll uncover mangroves and glide past hidden waterfalls. If fly and flop is more your bag, Le Morne village has white sand beaches with just a handful of shops and restaurants for company.

Maldives

There are relaxing holidays, and then there’s the Maldives. Wash up at one of its 26 atolls (that’s tropical islands if you’re not down with the lingo), and you’ll be in paradise. The water’s too blue to believe, and the sand stretches as far as the eye can see – ideal for a holiday spent recharging your batteries. The best bit? You don’t have to go far to secure a secluded spot of sand. Resorts here offer daytrips to uninhabited islands known as ‘picnic islands.’ Back at base, there are relaxing spas and private pools to unwind in, too.

Hotel pick? TUI BLUE Olhuveli Romance has its own private reef, private pools and open-air restaurants – what a trio.
